Did you know that reading and participating on other people’s blogs is a crucial activity in your MLM business? I can already hear some of my newer people throwing their hands up in exasperation, “What something else to do? How many should I be reading and where should I find the time to do it?”

Good news – this does not have to be very time consuming, however chances are once you get started, like me, you will enjoy it so much that you’ll have to find ways to manage the activity or else you will be spending far too much time on it.

I suggest you give yourself a time limit every day. Just how long will depend entirely on how much time you have available for business activities. I find it a relaxing way to end my business day and usually spend about 20 -30 minutes doing so.

So what are the reasons for reading blogs and how can you maximize your time? Being organized and using  a  free available tool to help you is the key. Try this quick  business personal development experiment:

Make a fist and clench it as tightly as you can. Hold it for at  least 30 seconds, longer if you can. Be present with the sensation…. feel your nails digging into your skin, feel the tightness in your knuckles and feel the discomfort in your wrist. Can you sense dis-ease elsewhere in your body? It’s not very pleasant but do it anyway.

Then slowly, very slowly, relax your fist and allow your fingers to unfold until your palm is open and facing upwards. Keep your hand and fingers relaxed. Be present with the sensation…. feel the relief as your hand opens, feel the air around your fingers and the easing in your joints. Can you feel the tension being released elsewhere in your body?

Sometimes we can be so obsessed with our businesses, so attached to the outcomes and desperate to make things work, that we start to operate in much the same way as your clenched fist. We become fixated with business and in so doing can neglect other areas of our lives. We stop making time to exercise, eat properly, get enough rest, relax and spend meaningful time with friends and family. In short we only have time for business and nothing else. Of course we must be passionate about what we do but this means loving what we do not having it dominate our lives to the exclusion of everything else, that’s called obsession!

You may be thinking that you do manage to spend time away from your business but do you really or are you still there mentally,  thinking about what you need to do next, maybe even problem solving at the same time as reading little Johnny his good night story? The problem is we can be so good at multi-tasking that it can become a habit we are not even aware of.  When we don’t give ourselves the gift of space away from our businesses, not only are we not looking after ourselves but we are also not giving others quality time and attention either.

Now think back to your clenched fist. Is there any way at all that something could have found a way into your palm like that? Hardly likely if you were clenching as I instructed. However the moment you started to relax and let the tightness go, any number of  things may have found their way into your palm because you were open to receiving them.

In the same way we need to create time and space away from what we are doing so we can receive new ideas and solutions to make our businesses better and stronger too.  Have you ever tried to recall something that you can’t? It can be very frustrating because no matter how obsessed you are with remembering you just can’t. Then when you finally give up thinking about it, suddenly it comes to mind. That’s because you relaxed enough to let your brain find what you were looking for. Just think about all the business innovations you could be missing out on because you are not giving yourself the space to receive them?

Take time on a daily and weekly basis to create quality space away from your business. It does not matter what you do as long as you know for sure that you are not still thinking about business. You could see a movie, watch your favorite TV program, read a book, play a game with your kids, go dancing with your partner, meditate or simply stare into space. Whatever you do make sure you create space so that you can be open to receiving and you’ll be amazed at how many little gems come your way.

In this network marketing tips article I’m going to show you how the New Orleans Saints have provided us with some valuable success tips which if you apply to your MLM business could have you rejoicing in much the same way as they did recently.

You don’t have to know a whole lot about American Football to understand that the recent historic win for the Saints was an epic victory. The Saints won the Super Bowl, the biggest prize in American sport.

What is significant about the win is that they had to overcome a legacy of failure stretching back 42 years! In fact this team had never reached the championship game before. You’ll understand then how the tradition of fans wearing paper bags over their heads  and calling themselves  “Aints” came about.

What makes their win even more amazing is that they were up against the mighty Indianapolis Colts, the team with the best record in the league and in fact the best record over the past decade. Throughout the game, it looked as if the Colts had it in the bag of course and then the underdogs took control in the final quarter. Drew Brees, the Saint’s quarterback equalled the record for the most passes completed in the Super Bowl. The final score – Saints 31, Colts 17.

After years of football failure and and more than four years of real hardship since Hurricane Katrina all but flattened New Orleans completely, no city needed or deserved this win more and no football team deserved the Lombardi Trophy more either.

So what network marketing tips can we take from this story?

Just as the Saint’s previous results were not an indication of things to come, it does not matter about your past business results either.  These do not have to equal your future results. Learn from your errors, change what’s not working, focus on NOW and this will determine your future results.

When their city flooded and their stadium was turned into a shelter, the team considered looking for a better stadium and bigger market but instead they returned to a repaired Superdome. They did not abandon ship. Just because you have not realized the results you want with your present company does not mean you should jump around from company to company. If you are not succeeding yet it’s more than likely you who needs work. With personal development you will position yourself to be successful no matter which company you are with.  Stay focused and commit yourself to your company in the long term.

Obviously having Brees join the Saints played a huge part in their recovery and success, but football is not won by one player. It takes a team working together.  The Saints team as a whole were able to demonstrate that they were the best team of the season and the best team on the day. Your business is not called “networking” by chance, it’s a fundamental operational principle. You need to work together with others and help them to become successful and then you will find success too. Perhaps your business needs inspired leadership so why don’t you step up and be the Brees of your team? Remember too that any one of the people you bring on board could be the leader you are looking for, the new blood to get things going, so sign up leaders not opportunity seekers.

The Saints and New Orleans did not give up despite huge odds against them.Whatever your situation, you can be successful too as long as you never give up.  It’s all up to you. What are you going to do about it?

Easy MLM? ‘Easy’ meaning requiring no great labor or effort. I don’t believe such a thing exists however before you click away from this post in disgust  and rush off to find the  magic elsewhere, let me say that I do believe there’s an easier way to be successful in MLM and by the end of this post I’ll help you to know exactly what it is you must do to jump-start your business so you can start achieving the success you want.

First you need to understand that you will only ever apply the valuable information I’m going to share with you if you give up chasing “easy MLM” and you’ll only do this when you understand why continuing with this madness is a total waste of your time and money.

Nothing makes me more angry than when I come across people in our industry who proclaim how easy MLM is – what a load of old codswallop! If it was, how come only 3% of those who get involved ever become successful? If it was, how come everybody else hasn’t given up their jobs to have MLM businesses so they can laze around on paradise beach with all the money and time in the world? If it was, how come you’re reading this post?

The sooner you accept that anything worth pursuing that you don’t  already know how to do (like being successful in MLM) is going to involve learning outside your comfort zone, the sooner you’ll allow yourself to face it and get on with it. This process means YOU WILL encounter challenges and only when you have overcome these will you have gathered the experience  required to know how to do whatever it is you have been learning to do. It does not matter whether you want to learn a new language, learn to play a musical instrument, climb Mt Everest or become successful in MLM, the process is the same. Can you do it? Of course you can as long as you don’t expect unrealistic results in an unrealistic time frame. 

Get this guys…… what’s easy for one person is not necessarily easy for another. We are all unique individuals and even if you are capable of learning the skills to do something you will also have to apply these consistently to achieve success. Doing this is another matter all together because applying skills depends on your own unique nature and unfortunately this part often lets us down until we learn how to manage our emotions and unconscious behavior. This is not easy! It takes time, effort and persistence. Remember too that everything is easy when you already know how to do it but that does not mean it’s easy before you know how to do it.

MLM is simple but it’s not easy! What I mean is that learning how to do it is not complicated but applying what you learn is challenging.   So what then will make it easier?

• Treat your business like a business and not a hobby or lottery ticket. Commit time and effort to it.
• Work on yourself by doing as much personal development as you can. Think about aligning yourself with an MLM company that markets personal development. This way you’ll get the personal development you need without necessarily having to spend additional money. This will equip you to deal with the challenges ahead and you’ll also develop yourself into the leader you must become to be successful.
• Use a simple but effective non company specific, Internet based marketing system that you can plug your team into so they can become successful as soon as possible. Using the leveraging power of the Internet is a far easier way to attract leads than using offline strategies. This system must provide training, customizable marketing tools, sorting and management of leads and  a way for you to fund your business even before anybody joins your primary income opportunity.  Using a system like this will mean you won’t run out of leads or money to operate your business
