Hello my name is Marcus Baker. Some people find their niche early on in life and consequently find success at an early age.  I’ve always admired these types because my life was nothing like this. My journey took a whole lot longer which is why the above quote is so close to my heart.

Here’s my story -

I was born in South Africa where I lived until I was in my 20s. I started out my career as a school teacher and although I did return to it a number of times in my life, I also managed to do a lot of other things.

To be honest  I never stuck with anything for very long. I always felt trapped, unfulfilled and desperately unhappy working in a job. Traveling and writing have always been my greatest passions and I did a lot of this between jobs. This continues to be very important to me; far more so than owning mansions and fast cars.

I have lived in New Zealand, the UK, Spain and Australia. I currently live in Sydney.

I first came across network marketing when I was in my 30s. It seemed to offer everything I was looking for. I was especially excited about finding an alternative to being entrapped by employment which was the opposite of what I wanted – greater freedom in my life. So started my six year struggle in this industry. I did everything I was told to do even though I found many “old style” network marketing practices very uncomfortable, like approaching friends and family to join me in business. I achieved absolutely nothing except to lose some friends, go broke and get very frustrated.  I joined no less than five companies in this time, always convinced that the next company would be the “right one”. Of course it never was. Eventually I decided to turn my back on the industry believing that it was just an illusive dream.

Towards the end of 2008 and now in my 40s, my life came tumbling down around my ears in every way possible. My personal relationship collapsed, I was jobless, homeless and simply lost! I knew that I had to take some serious action to improve my life once and for all.

Not surprisingly I was drawn back to network marketing, simply because there was nothing else that fired me up as much  nor capable of giving me what I wanted. Others were being successful so I knew it must be possible and  I was determined to find the way. I signed up with another company but it wasn’t long before I was experiencing the familiar old problems of  no leads, no money, and no real understanding of marketing.

What came next was a period of much  intensive soul searching and personal development. I realized that the problem was me. I knew I had to become stronger so that I could change  my life regardless of the fears and the obstacles I encountered. When I stepped up and started taking responsibility for my own success and stopped blaming my past failure on  companies, sponsors, the economy and whatever else I could find, then things started to change.

For one thing all the resources I required for success started to just show up when I needed them. I have been fortunate enough to partner up with some truly phenomenal mentors in this industry. What I learned was an absolute revelation and ‘about turn’ to everything I had ever known about network marketing. For one thing I realized that my business had to be about me first and foremost, that I needed to brand and position myself, while drawing on my power to step up and become the leader one must become if one wants to be successful.  I have been sharing what I learned ever since with who ever wants to learn the secrets to success in this industry.

… is to help empower as many leaders as possible in ALL MLM/NETWORK MARKETING COMPANIES so that they can prosper and build their businesses in a way that is attractive, fun, and deeply satisfying and so that they can live their ideal lives.  Helping others to develop the  skills they need to dominate their company and FINALLY break through to the success that they’re looking for is one of my greatest passions in life.

I do what I do because…

I love the freedom it gives me – the freedom to work for myself when I choose and where I choose. The freedom to influence my earnings and the freedom to live the kind of life that is important to me. This is the only way I can help others, travel extensively and write while making a jolly fine living I might add.
