Business Personal Development – Are You Missing Out On Strawberries And Cream?

  • Sharebar
  • class="st_sharethis" displayText="Share">

What do  strawberries and cream have to do with business personal development ? As it turns out quite a lot actually. Let me explain….

I don’t know who came up with this analogy but I use it often to discourage those in the industry who jump from one thing to the next:

‘If you continually jump from one lunch line to another you never get to eat.’

When it comes to business I can vouch for this from personal experience.

However…. what would happen if you stayed in the line serving strawberries without ever checking any of the other lines?

What if two lines down they were serving strawberries and cream? Simple you wouldn’t even know that cream was available. My point exactly.  Fine if you don’t like cream, but what if you did?

OK so maybe you don’t relate to the whole food experience so watch the video and I’ll give you another example  to illustrate how this that came up for me recently.

Maybe you have had similar experiences in your business or life? I’d love to hear about them or anything else you have to say on this topic so please leave me a comment.

My goal? Helping you achieve yours.

  7. Clever. Love what you have done here.

It illustrates that trying new things is important. As long as you have something to fall back on just incase the new way isn’t to your liking!

If the new way is to your liking it can be a wonderful thing.

Thanks Dwayne. Yep being prepared if things don’t work out is just being sensible but sometimes we need to be reminded about that – good point.

  8. Marcus, I really like the video thanks for taking me running I needed the exercise. You are correct there’s usually a few ways to get things done and once we get comfortable in a mode we tend to stay until forced to find another route, very insightful post thanks.

Thanks Roger. Yep it’s easy to just get comfortable which is fine as long as it’s not too comfortable because then we stop learning.
