Are You Giving Yourself Enough Time? | Business Personal Development

This  week I was reminded of a story I first heard a long time ago which I thought was perfect to share with you in my business personal development video below.

You may have heard it before however it’s a story we need to keep on hearing. It reminds us to slow down and give ourselves enough quality time with whatever it is we are doing.

With the increasing rate at which we are having to deal with information in all arenas of our lives but especially if you use the Internet for marketing,   there is only one person who is responsible for overload control and that’s YOU!

How do you ensure that you are not rushing around from one thing to the next? I’d love to hear your tips or just have you comment on the video, so please go the comments section and let me know.

My goal?  Helping you achieve yours.

  1. Hi Marcus,

Amen!! 2 days of social media, that’s not working lets try article marketing, one week, that’s not working lets try blogging.

How many times have I heard that??

I agree Marcus, you really need to pick something you feel passionate about and make it work. I really feel connected to blogging and the great part of blogging is that I can implement videos, social media, articles into it and I enjoy doing it.

    Thanks for sharing those nuggets.

    Have a great day!

Great to hear that you enjoy blogging. I have to agree with you – it’s my favorite strategy by a long way but it took me a little while to realize that. I was also too busy flitting around… ha ha

  4. Amen Marcus! To your video, the fine story and Think and Grow Rich.

Personal development books provide entertainment value only unless you practice what they preach.

TaGR was my inspiration. I page through it on a continual basis to make sure that I’m actually applying that which I’ve learned. To make sure that I slow down I take a break every 60 minutes to fall back on my vision. This promotes peace of mind in my being while creating the urge to make an impression upon each person I come into contact with. The impression is made by adding value to whatever activity I happen to be engaged in.

    Thanks for sharing Marcus.

Great little video with a perfect message. Especially if one wants to improve and grow in whatever….. As a golfer, I know how important it is to focus and be in the present moment when you are hitting the golf ball… one thing at a time… quiet mind, quiet hands…. fully focused. Really appreciate your thoughts. Thanks again.

Absolutely! I remember my Dad trying to teach me golf when I was a kid and I was hopeless for the very reason of not being able to focus so I know exactly how important this is in your field of expertise and with anything one wants to achieve.

    Thanks for the visit.

  11. Hi Marcus,

I really enjoyed this story. Many of us find it easy to fall into the trap you spoke about, always looking for the next thing. We need to have a little “Sitck-to-it-iveness” in the things we do in our businesses and in life.

    Thanks for the message,

“Sitck-to-it-iveness” – I like that Ken!! Yes it’s easy to always be moving on but we miss so much in the process so good to be reminded to stop that now an again.

That was an awesome story! Okay, I admit it, I’m guilty of that too. But I have made a conscious effort to slow down and do better implementing what I learned.

Cheers and have a great weekend!

  14. Hey Marcus, you are so natural in your videos, great job. I am big uhmmer.

I was talking online with someone the other day who was adamant that article marketing does not work. I asked her for links to her articles so I could read them and see what the problem was.

I almost fell out of my chair, she only wrote one article.

  15. Hey Marcus,

Great video. I really liked the story. I’m glad our preacher don’t do that. It’d be the same sermon from now on to get 2500 people on the same page. lol

Education and implementation is key. You need both, but one doesn’t work without the other.

    Thanks Marcus.

  16. Hey Marcus,

I think this is my favorite video of yours so far… or maybe it’s just because it’s the latest. :D They get better and better.

What a powerful message that no one can argue with. There are things I had to hear over and over before I finally decided to try it myself. And then there are things that I had to DO over and over before seeing real results.

The consistent action is what gets results. Totally awesome message.

    Thank you!

  17. Hey Marcus,

What a great story. Repetition is the mother of all skills. The more we continue to do the same thing over and over again, the better of we will eventually be.

Napoleon Hill asked the question, “Why don’t more people keep on keeping on?”

Thanks for passing on this great reminder. :)

    Hi Jerome,

Yes indeed that is the question. Some things just have to be repeated until we get it. I was like that with times tables at school… some took me forever. LOL

  18. Marcus… so true! We can never hear this message enough. We can never read think and grow rich enough. We can never get too good at doing something. We have to be ‘stickers’ and implement what we know.

Impatience is the reason many of us move on. It doesn’t help that today we are bombarded with so much ‘new’ stuff either.

ie: blinking internet marketing courses… they fly at you with the next latest, greates, newest, must-have, trick of the trade… when in reality common sense and basic will always work.

Again Marcus… I loved this post and it was a great reminder. As you say, we can never hear ‘common sense’ enough.

    Hi Jayne,

I think sometimes it has to do with the “greener grass” issue. We think that there might be something better than what we have so we just keep on moving from one thing to the next. In the end we miss everything.

You are so right… just keep to the basics and just do it and success will come. The reason why it takes as long as it does sometimes is because we are too busy starting over.

Great to read your comment here Jayne.
