You may be wondering why this business personal development post is about the second most important way to start your day. What happened to the first?
I’m hoping that you’re already attending to the first; starting your day by doing personal development, whatever you choose that to be. This should be alone time for you to “tune into you”.
What you do next however is just as important and not spoken about that much. I didn’t start with this till a few months ago but it’s made a huge difference to my day because it’s focused me on what’s most important in my business.
Watch the video and you’ll understand what I mean. I’d love to hear if you already do this or if you have some other ideas to add to mine so please leave me a comment.
I’d also love it if you would tweet, digg, stumble or Facebook this with you followers. I’ll certainly repay the favor.
My goal? Helping you achieve yours.

Hey Marcus
Human interaction builds the REAL bridge between us all.
This is a great tip. We are not just our blogs, capture pages etc etc. We are people and our business is people and solving their problems.
Good to bring it back to basics
I know you like personal development. I came across a video today which I think you will appreiate.

Let me know what you think of it.
Have a great weekend (looks like we will have SUN this weekend in the UK – YAY).

Marcus,
Since I have a routine every day, I am up when most people
are still in dreamland (4:00 am). My routine does include
checking emails and reading a few blogs, my commute of
personal development.
But I have to say, when I arrive at my office to pick up
my work I am cheerful when most would be complaining about
being tired. I set the tone for that office because most
of them have such a bad attitude.
So, if I am able to act as a spark plug to set a positive
tone, than it is all good,
Have a great day my friend!!

Hi Tommy,
Yes might be a bit difficult to be talking to people at 4am unless they were somewhere else in the world. Sounds like you have got it all figured anyway my friend.
Have an awesome weekend!

Hey Marcus,
In fact I have this experience from today´s morning. I receive a text message that new member joined to my team so I called him immediately and it was very inspirational call. You are right the good way to start a business day is to have a pleasant conversation with leads, friends or family members.
I will keep this in my mind.
Thank for sharing.

Marcus,
Just waking up, already done with my personal development reading for the day, and I’ve chosen my affirmation for the day… “I give myself permission to live in my power.”
After that I’ll generally check my e-mail for commissions for a little excitement in the day, and then it’s on to reading my friend’s blogs in the tribes.
That’s how my day begins Marcus, which sounds like exactly what you’re talking about… Great minds think alike chief.

Good stuff Marcus.
With so many just relying on their computer for business they forget how great it is to connect with people face to face.
I do not get up as early as Tommy but my start to the day has three phases.
I now get up an hour earlier than I use to to read something, whether a chapter in the latest book I am reading or some enlightening blog posts.
My second phase is the computer connections. I will go add friends on social networks, answer some forum posts, or promote someone else’s content.
The third phase is what you describe above. I arrive in my office, say hello to all of my staff, and maybe chat with reception for a minute. Sometimes I will stop and have a quick talk with various department heads before heading up to my office.

Hi Marcus,
This video is what business is all about. I once wrote a post stressing that even though we work online it’s vital to remember that we are dealing with people, not things. The numbers on the screen and the computer itself are things. Forget about ‘em! Focus on the live person on the other end of your communicative medium of choice.
Just this morning during my walk to the library I made it a point to look up and give each passer-by a warm “Hi” and smile. So important to get in the proper frame of mind before entering the cyber-realm. Maybe I sensed your blog post before reading…more synchronicity
Thank you for your always wise advice Marcus

Hi Ryan,
Pleased to hear we continue to be in tune with each other Ryan. I am all for attracting like minded people like yourself so that I can learn more too.
I loved reading your story about smiling and saying hi to people. I wonder if you found the same as I do when I make a point of smiling at everybody I pass on the street.
Some do smile back of course but the vast majority will do anything not to see me. Isn’t it sad how so many feel separated? All the more reason to smile at them I say so that we can remind them that we will always be connected and that they have simple forgotten about this.

Great way to start your business day Marcus.
What I do, which isn’t so much related to business, but it prepares me for a great day.
I have an inspirational audio I created for myself. I listen to this every day.

Hey Marcus,
This is important to start the day with human interaction. I like to start my day talking with my wife. But you are correct if you are in a people business it’s important to get the mind juiced up!
Have a great weekend!

Hey Marcus,
I wouldn’t want it any other way. I start my day chatting with my teenage boys. They amaze me as they are becoming young men… I am so glad I get to be here with them, (instead of working somewhere else) the last couple years before they are out on their own. I cherish our mornings.
Human contact is important, to keep in touch with what we’re really doing this for.
Awesome video!
Enjoy your weekend!
