MLM Lead Generation Archives

FBPost Facebook Advertising On The Internet Should You Bother? There seems to a be a lot of buzz around Facebook advertising on the Internet just lately.

In a nutshell Facebook ads and Google Pay Per Click both fall into the same advertising category. This  refers to a form of marketing that is designed to get a direct response which is specific and measurable.

There are some similarities between Google and Facebook advertising but there are just as many differences. I’d like to encourage you to read a post titled “Facebook Ads vs Google PPC” written by  my friend Derek Alvarez in  which he covers the advantages and disadvantages of each very efficiently.

Should YOU be considering this strategy for MLM lead generation purposes?

Whether you should bother with Facebook advertising or not will depend on your own unique set of circumstances but I wanted to share my views with you about this.

Let me be quite up front here when I say I have personally not done any Facebook advertising yet.

In all likelihood my reluctance  will have  been colored by an earlier experience. When I first started marketing online I opted for Google PPC as advised by a sponsor.  This would have been fine had he known what he was doing. Hmmm mental note to self…

Needless to say I was battered around like a paper kite in a thrashing storm at sea. Then came a certain 12 hour period when I ‘gave’ the ‘mighty G’, $500 for not a single lead. Game over!  At this time $500 was my my entire marketing budget for two months so the effect was somewhat severe.

Google’s fault? Absolutely not.

PPC requires that you have a substantial budget to spend especially when you are learning. It also requires that you take time to learn the complexities involved and that you be able to change strategy as quickly as Google changes.

More than this it requires you to be or become a numbers person, someone who enjoys tracking and statistics. I am simply not this way inclined which means I was ignorant and easy bait.

I believe you should consider Facebook advertising on the Internet if:

  • you want to venture into this kind of advertising and have less of a budget than required by Google.
  • you want to learn aspects of direct response marketing in a more controlled environment.
  • you have a very clear idea of who it is you want to target and what the measurable response is you require.
  • want to try this type of advertising in a less competitive market than Google.
  • you’re not focusing on any other major marketing strategy right now.
  • you know someone who is already using Facebook advertising who can show you how to be successful

So how do you feel about Facebook advertising? Maybe you already use it in which case I’d love to hear about your experiences so please leave me a comment.

If you enjoyed this post I’d appreciate it if you could share it on your social networks. Thank you.

Fresh MLM Leads Just Delivered, Now What?

stork Fresh MLM Leads Just Delivered, Now What? You’ve  just received an email delivery of fresh MLM leads which hopefully you have not wasted your money buying since the best MLM leads are those you generate yourself.

That’s great but do you know what to do with them ?

Whenever I ask people what they need to know more about,  I frequently hear “how to generate more leads”.  It’s a fact that we require more leads than we usually expect we will need, however MLM lead generation is only the first step towards success.

Do you connect with your fresh MLM leads?

If you are not prospecting leads, then you may as well stop generating them now because you are just fooling yourself, wasting yours and others time and probably a lot of money too.

The only way we get paid in this industry is if we connect with our leads and convert them to sales. This is otherwise known as mlm recruiting or network marketing prospecting. Personally I prefer the term, “connecting” because that’s exactly what we are doing.

Some people get stuck at this point and I was one of them until I learned how to prepare myself. I had to learn to overcome this barrier.  This is how I did it and what you might need to do too.

Preparing yourself for prospecting leads:

  1. Give this area of your business as much if not more attention than MLM lead generation.
  2. Ensure that you have the right sub conscious beliefs about yourself and what you have to offer. Remember beliefs are not what you say you believe necessarily but are always reflected in your actions.  If you find it almost impossible to speak to leads then there is a very good chance your beliefs are not supporting you and they will have to be overhauled.  This may require more conscious personal development or even require some work at a sub conscious level.
  3. You have  to learn and understand the psychology of prospecting. This means understanding how others think and respond and knowing the best way to communicate with them. This is not something you will just know. You will need to learn how to do it. I suggest any Jefferey Combs training or Mike Dillard’s  Black Belt Recruiting
  4. You must have an approach and strategy prepared. This is not a sales pitch or a script but rather knowing how to start and direct a conversation to its logical conclusion. Find someone to role play this with until you are comfortable with your approach.
  5. Now practice it on every lead you get. Make your goal to practice the strategy not sign someone up and the results will come as you get better at it.

Further Training

My friend Jordan Schultz has written an awesome blog post on this subject in which he gives you some great practical tips for prospecting leads. I suggest you read this by clicking on his name.

I’d love to hear your thoughts about prospecting leads so please leave me a comment. If you enjoyed this post I’d appreciate it if you could share it on your social networks  too.

gold Prospecting Tips How To Mine For Gold On FacebookTake yourself back to the gold rush of yesteryear and think about how miners would have searched for gold, then you’ll have all the prospecting tips you need to be successful at mlm lead generation on Facebook too.

Would miners have just started digging in any old place? It’s highly unlikely as this would have been a total waste of time. I feel confident they would have targeted areas known to have gold deposits for starters and there would have been a process to uncover this.

Diggers would have worked carefully, systematically and consistently to chip away at  the rock in order to find what they were looking for. This would have been followed by a great deal of sorting. Perhaps in amongst all the mined rock, they would have found a small amount of gold which if they were fortunate enough  may have been of a high enough grade to be valuable.

The point is that that finding gold in this way required a process. There were no short cuts. The same is true for prospecting one on one with anybody, anywhere, including on Facebook.

Unfortunately few people really get this. I mostly come across two types of miners  – those who have no idea where the gold is so they just dig anywhere. These are the people who can’t resist sending you  link burdened messages about how their opportunity is just what you need to solve your every problem. Really? How would they know since they know nothing about you?

Then there are those who have half got it. They connect with you on a personal level, well at least for a couple of messages anyway. Then comes a message which is usually polite and without links. It provides an explanation about how whatever it is they are involved with has changed their life and why you will definitely benefit from knowing about it. The message usually ends  with them asking your permission to move to the next step. The problem is they still have no idea about whether this is something you need.

Here then is the mining for gold process on Facebook:

  • Firstly decide what it is you have to offer someone that is NOT a business opportunity. There is no shortage of business opportunities  and  none of them will distinguish you from the thousands of others who have them too. What can you personally offer someone else?

  • Next, work out the possible problems someone in your niche might have and which you can help with what you have to offer.

  • Identify people in your target group and add them as friends. Make no assumptions about them.

  • Send them a personal message when you request their friendship which simply suggests that you’d like to get to know them better. If they confirm your request or you theirs, now you are ready to find out whether a dialogue is possible. If they don’t respond to your first mail,  leave it at that and find people who will.

  • Your aim over a series of messages is to find out as much as you can about the person. The following are examples of the type of questions you would ask. This is NOT a sequential email script! – Where do you live? How long have you lived there? What are your interests? What do you do for a living? How do you market? How is that working out for you? Do you generate your own leads etc.Your questions must be geared to finding out what you need to know to decide whether you can help them or not.

  • When you have established that they have a problem you might be able to help them with, then you have found some possible gold.  Just how valuable it is will depend on how you match your solution to their problem.

email Five Email Marketing Tips To Help You Build Smoking Relationships With Your List Following on from my post yesterday in which I suggested the most important thing you can do as a marketer is build a list and develop a relationship with that list, I’ve had a few people ask me to give them some email marketing tips so I thought these may help you too.

Email marketing is often not given the attention it deserves which is a bit short sighted considering it’s our primary list building tool.

Opinions about what works and what doesn’t vary greatly when it comes to email and  what I’m going to cover is by no means a definitive guide.  I suggest you try things out and monitor your percentage of  mail opened and the click through rate. When something works don’t change it and when it doesn’t, well duh……

1.Use an auto responder

OK so you’re thinking this is obvious but believe it or not I still come across people out there who do not want to spend money on this tool. I don’t get it. Would a carpenter be without a saw??? Right so you MUST have this tool. It will save you time, help you to manage your email campaigns and track them.  In my opinion the best one to use is Aweber. The interface is very user friendly and they offer a wide variety of options.

2.Once a day, twice…. more?

I have no idea. Some people love getting emails every day and others hate it and unsubscribe. So what? Personally I think frequent is best so I keep in touch with my list six days a week and sometimes more than once a day. Remember these are people who you want to develop a friendship with. Unless you stay in touch with friends they will go elsewhere. I believe emailing your list frequently is fine as long as you are providing….

3.Value

This means you are not constantly sending out sales letters suggesting they buy the next greatest product you’ve just come across. The principle remains the same -  give more than you take! It’s not very difficult to do this. Some easy value emails to send out include invitations to free marketing webinars as well as setting up your auto responder to send out a mail every time you post to your blog.

4.Personalize, Personalize, Personalize

signature Five Email Marketing Tips To Help You Build Smoking Relationships With Your List Does the vast majority of email you receive  look the same? Boring!  If you personalize your mail even in a small way, you will stand out from the crowd and that is something you should be doing with all your marketing. Two simple ways that won’t compromise the integrity of your mail is use a different font, bold a line or two or change the color and add a customized signature like mine on the right. You can do this by signing up for one for free at Wisestamp. You’ll be able to use it for your usual email as well as copy and paste the html to your auto responder  emails.

5.Respect your audience

Remember you are writing to real people, busy people who probably get far too much email anyway. Give them what they want. Ensure your content is relevant, brief and interesting. Learn how to use words creatively, naturally and effectively by learning more about  copy writing.

It would be great to hear what you have to say about email and what your tips are if you have any to share with us. Leave a comment and please spread the word by clicking the “Bookmark and Share” button below, or by sharing it on Facebook & re-tweeting it on Twitter above.

It’s not an Audi R8!power What Do Jonathan Budd & Brian Fanale Have In Common?

There was only ever going to be one winner and Jonathan Budd is it!

If you don’t know what I’m on about then you’ve obviously been under a rock for the last few days!

Mike Dillard recently launched his new product “What’s Working Now” which incidentally if you were crazy enough not to sign up for, you’ve missed!  Apparently you can register to be informed if and when the product is made available again.

So Mike ran an affiliates competition for the launch and first prize was a brand spanking new Audi R8! Man not since I was almost caught up in an annual wildebeest migration have I witnessed such a stampede towards the finish line.

I waited with bated breath to receive the leader updates. There were many familiar names, the above two and other marketing heavy weights like  Jason Better (3rd) and Ann Sieg (4th) all jostling for that top place.

I’m fairly sure none of them really needed the car and most can more than  likely buy their own anyway, so what was the attraction?

Competitiveness?    The Challenge?     A Marketing addiction?    Some kind of narcissistic drive?

Maybe, maybe and maybe but I believe they simply rose to the challenge because they could!!

And why could they???

Because what Jonathan Budd and Brian Fanale have in common and with all the rest of us who took part is this…. We know that…

The Power Lies In The List!!

They were not successful because of any particular network marketing company, not because they knew Mike Dillard personally, not because they had access to discounted billboard advertising space but because they understand the power you have when you have a list of followers who you have built a relationship with and  and who will buy from you when you market to them over time. Period!  The bigger your list, the more potential power you have!

This is what it means to make your business about YOU Inc! This is what attraction marketing is all about. This is what you should be working on as a priority… not trying to pitch your latest, greatest deal or insist that your vitamin infused berry cocktail from Mars is the best….

The model to follow is simple: Build a list. Build a relationship with the list. Market to the list

How do you do this?

  1. You need to be able to offer people something of value that is going to help them. This is why they will opt in to your list. Find something to give away for free that will be of value to your niche group.
  2. You will need a way to communicate this offer to them via a blog or capture page.
  3. You’ll need an email auto responder like Aweber so that you can communicate with your list members.
  4. You”ll need to know how to build a relationship with your list which does not mean market every affiliate product ever released to them. It does mean offer them ongoing value.
  5. Then and only then when they know, like and trust you… then will they buy from you when you have something of value to market to them.

While the model is simple and the process very possible most people will find putting all the pieces together a challenge  which is exactly why if you want to make this as easy as joining the dots you should use an effective attraction marketing system to help you with every one of the above steps.

It’s what I do and it’s how all other the top seven figure earners do it too.

How do I know?

This contest has just proved this very point. You see the other thing that both Brian Fanale and Jonathan Budd have in common is that each of them owns one of the top two attraction marketing systems in the market place today.

They must both be doing something right, not so? How can can argue with 1st and 2nd place?
