An online MLM network marketing business is not for the faint of heart.
Things move at a speed which not that long ago would have been the stuff of science fiction movies. With this comes both the ‘good’ and the ‘bad’ and you had better be prepared for both.
I wasn’t a boy scout when I was young but I have always known their motto, “Be prepared” would come in handy some day.
“Be prepared for what?” someone once asked Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting,
“Why, for any old thing.” said Baden-Powell. Too right he was.
Last week was one of those weeks where everything in my life decided to happen at the same time and at full speed. The wheels didn’t just fall off the cart in my life, they shook, whirled and spun off in a continual frenzy that left me reeling on most days.
A friend of mine wanted to know how I managed to keep so calm in all the pandemonium.
“Because I tend to be prepared.” was my answer.
” But doesn’t that mean you’re always in state of expecting the worst? ” she asked.
What she said did get me thinking but I’m pleased to say no it definitely does not mean that. It is as Mr Baden-Powell said, being prepared for any old thing and that does not mean it’s always negative.
So how prepared are you?
For example, have you got a plan in place for if and when …
- someone asks you what you do for a living?
- someone asks you why you’re in business? Do you really know?
- your computer hard drive crashes with all your data on it? Do you back up your data?
- the next big industry product is launched? How’s that list coming along?
-you attract 10-25 leads on one day, all with telephone numbers that need calling?
-blog is hacked into?
-you earn your first $100, $1000, $10 000, $million?
Only you know how prepared you are to meet whatever comes your way and nobody else needs to know the answers to the above questions except you.
>>>> So over to you now, can you think of some other things positive or negative we could do with being prepared for in our online MLM network marketing businesses? I’d love to hear what you have to say so please leave me a comment.
It would be awesome if you could “Bookmark & Share” share this post. for me. Be assured that I will do the same for you. This is an industry where those who help each other benefit the most. Thank you.
My goal? Helping you achieve yours.

Marcus my friend,
Glad to see you back and that everything worked out.
This is very interesting information because most of
us come up with the answer as the question arrives.
Here is something to think about…
-If your business opportunity decides to restructure and
NOT offer the opportunity.
Thanks for sharing..

Yes Tommy you are right. We have to believe that whatever question or event arises that that we will be able to deal with it. Perhaps the best way of being prepared is being able to not get flustered no matter what comes up so that we are optimally positioned to deal with the specifics.
Yes that is a good question you raise about ones opportunity and hopefully people reading this have taken steps to ensure their business revolves around them and not their opportunity.

Hey Marcus,
I was never in the Boys Scout. But I like that motto, “Be Prepared.”
Be prepared to backup you blog on a daily basis. I back up mine twice a day. A friend told me that over the weekend their blog crashed and everything was gone. The nice part was the problem was with the hosting company and they had a backup of the server that had crashed. So back up your material. Great to hear you are back in your game!
Chat with you later…

Yep that is something I do too, back my blog up at least daily. There is a great little plug in that can help people with this called “WordPress Database Backup” which works really well. Thanks for stopping by.

Hey there Marcus,
Being prepared is one characteristic a home business needs to live by. There will be times things will be thrown at us and if we weren’t prepared, it can be a BAD thing. However, when we are prepared it isn’t all that bad after all.
Here’s to being prepared…
Have a great day,

Hi Jerome,
I guess it’s just having a bit of common sense at the end of the day. We will never be prepared for everything but at least if we can be prepare in some ways, whatever happens will not de-rail us completely. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Marcus,
I had one of those weeks last week and wasn’t prepared. OUCH! Lesson learned!
Not only do we need to be prepared for when things go wrong, but also when things go right at you stated!
Being prepared doesn’t mean you are a pessimist, it means you are ready for the unexpected and can handle it with grace and professionalism.
Have a great day!

You said that beautifully Twila – ” it means you are ready for the unexpected and can handle it with grace and professionalism.” It’s a line I could have added to my post had I thought of it!

Always expect the unexpected to turn up. My Dad used to tell me that.
Being prepared is very important. If your not panic ensues when the sh*t hits the fan. Panic, as we all know does not help a situation.

Hi Dwayne,
Yes that is the Number 1 rule – never panic! I used to be a diver in the navy and when we did basic training we had to run for 2.4Km every day shouting out “I’m in Control” like a mantra for the entire distance and I have to say their brainwashing still works and I am pleased!

Hey Marcus. That article really hit home. I know how you feel having been dealing with it my self. I was told by someone that I do not remember their name, it is a waste of time to fret over the what ifs. But you will find that it is the little things that matter the most and there is no use fretting the cataclysmic things(big events). You can’t really prevent them only deal with the aftermath and minimizing the callateral damage.

Hi Thomas,
Spot on there my friend. We can only be prepared for so much when it comes to specifics but we can always be prepared to face whatever comes our way, knowing that we can cope with everything.

I have been accused of being negative for considering the possibilities that could arise. I was a Boy Scout and learned to be prepared almost to a fault. There is a balance to be achieved but to be prepared and not need to be is much better than to not be prepared when the need does arise. I am happy to here Marcus is moving forward nicely having been prepared.

Ha ha David I had some friends who were scouts and yes some bordered on compulsive when it came to being prepared. What you say is the secret – balance! Thanks for stopping by David. Always nice to have you visit.

Sorry to hear you had such a rough week. Yuck. Glad to hear you are prepared and able to handle events with calm and purpose.
I love the strength of my online marketing friends (like yourself). Life never fails to ‘happen’, but it doesn’t have to knock us out.
Thanks for sharing this and using it as inspiration as well.
