There’s a right way and a wrong way to monetize your network marketing blog.
The purpose of your blog is to “promote you” not vomit your products and services at every poor unsuspecting visitor.
Why should strangers visiting your blog be dying to take out their credit cards? They won’t be.
It might happen from time to time but it’s highly unlikely. There’s no good reason why they should because…
People buy from those they know, like and trust!
Having a blog positions you perfectly to make this happen through what is known as attraction marketing. When you have built a relationship with someone then there is a very good chance that they will buy from you down the line. Just as it takes time for a good friendship to develop between people, so the same is true when it comes to business relationships
Nobody likes to be sold to!
Make sure your network marketing blog is not a sales page disguised as a blog. If you must inform people about the mlm products and services you use, then instead of having endless banner ads screaming at people, put these on a separate resources page and provide value on the page about why you recommend these tools.
If your blog “vomits BUY ME!”… there’s a good chance people will not stay to see what you have to offer or they won’t come back again and you will have lost a potential customer for life.
Monetize your blog subtly
Do this by writing balanced and useful mlm product reviews and reviews about mlm companies which link to the products you recommend.
When you write a post and refer to a product or service you use, link the word to that product or service so if someone wants to find out more they can click on the word and be taken to the site in a new window.
Use your blog as an entry point to your marketing funnel
Ideally use your blog to capture people’s details so that they can be added to your list building activities from where you can develop an ongoing relationship with them through email marketing.
The most efficient way to do this is to have an organized marketing funnel into which people can be added.
This starts with providing them with a free gift of value in return for their contact details. Then as you provide further value, so you drip feed them information about products and services you are using which they will need to use anyway. As they learn to trust you so they will buy these via your recommendations over time.
Creating a marketing funnel on your own is possible but why re-invent wheel?
It takes a huge amount of expertise and money to develop an effective marketing funnel. You are better off using an attraction marketing system like My Lead System Pro which provides scientifically tailored marketing funnels for you to customize and use at will.
The very best way to monetize your blog?
Use your network marketing blog as a platform to become a credible and trusted resource. When people connect with you because of this they will naturally be keen to use whatever you use.
>>>> What are your views when it comes to monetizing your blog? I’d love to hear about them or anything else you have to say on this topic so please leave me a comment.
I’s really appreciate it if you would use “Only Wire” or some of the other buttons available to share this post. Be assured that I will do the same for you. This is an industry where those who help each other benefit the most.
My goal? Helping you achieve yours.

I agree with you Marcus that your MLM blog should provide pure value and have a form where people can become yuor leads to continue receiving value from you. I had my banners on my blog, but they never generated any sale for me so I think I’m going to take them off.

I agree with both of you guys, however I have made few blog posts about autoresponders with banners, but l had the idea mostly to inform people in detail what features those programs contain. So yes , if someone only says he is a leader and does not show it through giving value, he is not gonna keep the title for a long time.
Thank you for this post Marcus, its most educational!

Hey Marcus,
Great points! When you provide your readers valuable information for them to take an apply them for free. Your audience will appreciate you for what you are offering and when you promote a product or service some will buy. Just like you said, people buy from people they trust and like.

Great title.
Subtly is the way to do it if you plan to sell within a post. A resource page is a must. When the trust has built enough people will go there and they will buy. This happens to me all the time which is great.
The is so much power in what a blog can do. Thank you for sharing this ‘sickly’ topic with us.

Marcus,
Monetizing the blog is much easier than most people think, however it’s not as instant as most people think. Just like you pointed out, your blog is a way for you to become a trusted resource with great knowledge.
Over time people will grow to trust you enough to sign into your e-mail list, and then they will buy your products and services.
Don’t over-complicate things.

Hi Jordan,
Yep we do over-complicate things usually because we are impatient I think. As with all aspects of a business, things take time and developing one’s blog as a platform to interact with others in a meaningful way is no different.

Ah Marcus,
A lot of people in my social networking world could learn a lot from this post!
A blog should feel like a safe place… if it is over run with ads it gives people the idea that the ads is why you brought them there in the first place, not to share value!
I had a few banners on my site in the beginning but as I learned more I removed almost all of them because I felt my page was starting to look tacky!
Thank you once again for an awesome post… it has been shared by every means on this page!

Emma

Hey Marcus,
I will have to agree with you. Many people want the “quick fix” and promote their primary heavily on the front end of their blog, personally I think that is a mistake.
Like yourself I see my blog as a long term asset and a method to connect with my readers and show my value. Also to generate leads from those people that choose to join my list for more info.
Great post.

Thanks for your input here Wayne. Way back I did try the ‘quick fix’ thing on a blog but not for long because I realized it was just ‘wrong’. All part of the learning. I wrote this post in the hope that it will save time for some contemplating such a move. I am sure it will for a small minority and the rest will learn the hard way as per usual.

Great visual on the title Marcus, graphic and powerful.
I’ve learned a great deal about network marketing from your blog. If anything I’ve had to move in the other direction. I had provided a resource portal but hadn’t stressed the free giveaways or benefits of my clubs. I started to write reviews which I believed to be fair and honest.
The salesmanship/established authority line is a fine and must be tip-toed if you’d like to establish credibility in the network marketing world. As far as I know nobody likes being aggressively pitched because an aggressive pitch is sales by force. Force negates. When you chase something it’s gonna keep running.
Thanks for sharing your insight

I guess the way in which one monetizes a blog is all dependent on it’s purpose. I do know one or two heavy hitter affiliate marketers whose blogs do resemble sales pages more and they do very well.
I like your line…. “When you chase something it’s gonna keep running.” So true!!

The best way is to be authentic and to stick to it if it’s successful. One third love you, one third hate you, one third don’t care. Does this ever change ? I don’t think so. Our job is to make those who don’t care, care. Have a blessed day and take care.

This is so imperative! The first thing people remember about your blog is the first impression. If a possible “customer” comes on your blog and can just tell that you are trying to pitch a good or service they will remember that and wont return.
