How do you assess your blog’s performance? Naturally you can use criteria like your Alexa score, how well your blog is ranking for certain keywords and by comparing traffic statistics. But is this enough?
While all important information to consider, I believe you also need to get your reader’s feedback. I want to suggest that from time to time you survey your readers and in this MLM Tips post I want to give you seven reasons why you should do so.
While waiting to see the dentist this week I was listening to a group of school girls discuss their latest school reports. As you can imagine it was an interesting conversation to overhear.
What interested me the most was hearing that their reports feature three evaluations for each area, the teachers, their peers and their own. What a brilliant idea to get such well rounded feedback.
How things have changed since I was at school when there was only one score and that was the mighty school’s judgment. Hearing their conversation immediately transported me back to a phase when I was not that interested in school work. This was a time when I dreaded every report card because they always brought bad news!
Of course report cards really are just a means of providing feedback and children should be taught to view them and use them as such.
It got me thinking about the fact that in our businesses we need to create our own report cards that feature feedback from different sectors to help us make changes where necessary so that we can improve what we are doing. As we are almost at the mid year point, now is as good time as ever to be evaluating the progress of your business goals.
As network marketing Internet business entrepreneurs, assessing your blog’s performance should be crucial since this is the headquarters of YOU inc. A good way to get additional feedback is to go directly to your readers. Here are 7 reasons to survey your blog readers:
* To improve your blog design, layout and sidebar
* To get feedback about posting frequency
* To ask questions for content ideas
* To find out what they have most liked so far
* To ask for recommendations about affiliate products
* To ask for ideas about contests and prizes
The possibilities are endless for you to use a survey to collect instant testimonials, opinions, questions, answers, and so on.
In keeping with my suggestion I would like to ask you to please do me a big favor and complete the following anonymous short survey to help me get some feedback about my blog so that I can continue to do what works and make changes to give you more of what you want. Thank you.
Have you used surveys before and what tips can you share in this respect? Please leave me a comment and also if you enjoyed this post I would appreciate it if you could share it with your followers on your social networks.
My goal? Helping you achieve yours.

Great idea Marcus. Bloggers need report cards too from time to time. My greatest blogging improvements have their origin in feedback.
As an aside it’s amazing how the grading system has changed.

Hey Marcus,
I’ve been trying to figure out just where you come up with such good ideas for your posts, now I know.
Every day life. A trip to the dentist, an old tree stump, just keeping your eyes and mind open.
Do me a favor? Go on a bike ride this weekend, I would love to hear what pops into your head when you avoid that darn squirrel in the path.
Wait, make that a snowmobile ride, it’s winter there, isn’t it?
As far as surveys go, I haven’t used them yet. But considering every thing else I’ve been learning here it won’t be long until I do.
Now, to hit a couple of buttons and take your survey.
Thanks For All You Do,
Mike

Hey Michael,
Your comment gave me a good laugh my friend.
Yeah will keep my eyes open for those squirrels, snowmobiles or whatever else comes my way. Could very well be a Kangaroo in a wooly jumper – excuse the pun!
You are right though one just has to be aware of what’s going on around one and you’ll never run out of post ideas.
Thanks so much for completing the survey. Appreciate it.

Marcus,
I love Surveys… and this is a great Idea to learn more of what your readers want specifically from your blog.
I’ve never actually thought to use it for this purpose…. Thanks to those school girls who gave you that lesson my friend, and you for passing it on.

Marcus we all need honest feedback to improve. It’s obvious we know what we like but when we can accept honest criticism good or bad we can make much better decisions with that input.
