If y
ou include a network marketing income stream in your business portfolio then this is an MLM Tips topic that should mean a lot to you.
Why? Because you too will want to know how to personally sponsor as many people into your network marketing business opportunity as possible.
Step one is of course to generate as many leads as you can, but this is only one part of the success equation. How many of your leads can you convert into team members? This is what really matters.
Would learning how to do this from someone who is the #1 recruiter with his primary company be worthwhile?
What about if this same person was also the #1 recruiter with the largest attraction marketing system on the Internet?
Would you think they know a thing or two about recruiting others?
This person is Cedric Harris. In a recent members and guests webinar for MyLeadSystemPro, Cedric revealed his secret which is really not a secret at all, just common sense applied. What Cedric had to say in a nutshell is this:
We are in the people business. Our product is people. Money comes from people. To get more money we need to understand people. Does it not make sense that we should spend more time studying and understanding people?
Doing so has certainly served Cedric well. It is the reason why he is as successful as he is.
When we understand ourselves in terms of our nature, drives and behavior and when we understand these same things about other people, then we will understand how others operate and how we must treat them to get the best results.
For instance assuming that everybody who gets involved in this industry does so because they are motivated by money would be very short sighted. If this is what you highlighted in a discussion with a person who is not motivated by money, can you understand that you would not stand much of a chance of conversion success?
Studying and understanding personality types is a great way to understand people better and will equip you with the insight you need to be more successful in dealing with others.
Personality types have been defined in various ways by people through the years. In Cedric’s training he used a simple four type system to categorize people based on the elements of – Fire, Wind, Water and Ice.
If you want to find out which of these elements best describes you and how you can understand others better in terms of this classification then I strongly recommend you read the MyLeadSystemPro webinar recap blog post HERE.
In addition, two books that you may want to consider reading on this topic are How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie and The Magic of Colors
by Jerry Clark.
How do you think you’ll be able to use the information provided in Cedric’s post to help you with recruiting more team members? I’d be really keen to hear your thoughts so please leave me a comment.
If you enjoyed this post please share it with your followers on your social networks. Thank you.
My goal? Helping you achieve yours.

Thanks Marcus, that was great info from Cedric Harris on personality types.
In my profession I tend to deal mostly with “fire” types and it can be a challenge, because I tend to be a “fire” type myself. They want no BS and they want to know the bottom line. They do not want to hear a long story and they do not want to be asked a lot of questions designed to lead them to a conclusion. They see through those types of closing techniques.

Hi Peter,
I guess knowing how they operate and how you operate yourself will make it a lot easier knowing how to deal with them Peter. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Marcus,
Thanks for sharing the super resources. I’ve heard much about Carnegie’s book but have yet to read it.
I have tried to use Cedric’s system by following the practice of not judging before interacting. I used to go into a conversation with a prospect holding the preconceived notion that I knew what it was they were looking for, making the error of not listening before speaking.
Now I keep an open mind and after hearing their motives and concerns I am better able to determine their personality type and how I may serve them.
“I will not judge anything today.”….I’ve been repeating this to myself hundreds of times a day….so far, so good
Enjoy your weekend Marcus!

Hi Ryan,
Sounds like you are working on this important skill very effectively Ryan.
Like you point out it all starts with just listening, really listening to the other person and when we do we will hear what we need to in order to know what to do next.
Have a great weekend too.

Hey Marcus,
It is important to know the different personality types there are. It allows you to connect with people. Especially when you are in a people business it is a must.

Hi Marcus,
I was on that webinar with The Master Closer, Cedrick Harris. You know we’re taught to study many skill sets in network marketing, but studying people isn’t something you hear a lot about. But as you point out, it would seem to be common sense because we’re in the people business.
When I started to hear about this, it just clicked. It makes total sense to me because everyone is not the same and we all have different motivations. This is certainly a people business and one would be wise to learn them.
I will definitely be picking up the books you suggested!

Hey Marcus,
There’s no gainsaying that we deal with people and it only makes sense to study people and not make costly assumption.
I remember getting frustrated when I first started on this journey. I didnt want stories. I wanted the real deal.
That thought me a lesson eventually: different strokes for different people.
Marcus, thanks for adding value.

Marcus, excellent point getting leads are great but coverting them into sales is the key to growing your business. I am heading down to a seminar today in Columbia MD that Cedrick Harris and Jeffrey Combs are sponsoring both great leaders in the industry.

Wow that should be a fantastic seminar Ed. I am sure you will learn a great deal from both of these leaders.

That was a great training. What I realized is that I get in a hurry when dealing with people on the phone and face to face. I need to be more empathetic to the personality types and try to better match their energy and pace. This brings into play a concept called nlp and it’s a tool I have overlooked. After hearing that training it brought it all back and I have already began applying it again with success.

Marcus this is a great topic. So many times you hear marketers say “…it’s a numbers game…”, meaning that less focus on people. I have always (well for a long time) said that we need to recognize that we are in the people business, and all people are not the same. Studying the personality type is interesting and revealing.
That you for bringing this to the forefront!
