If you’ve had a network marketing Internet business for a some time then you should already have a list, be developing a relationship with your followers and be marketing to them.
If you are very new, then one of the best MLM tips I can pass on to you is that you should put this system into place as a priority. You will hear marketers saying “the money’s in the list” but that’s only if you have one so don’t delay.
To do so you must engage a decent email auto responder service. There are a few around so choose wisely because once you have signed up and have a database of followers, it’s a real pain to change services.
I recommend Aweber because regardless of everything else, they offer a first class service when it comes to reliability and since it’s my name attached to my emails I want 100% deliverability which is not always the case with other providers.
Once you have a list in place the idea is that email marketing will become an important part of your marketing strategy. This is how you develop a relationship with your followers and obviously market appropriately to them when the time is right. You will find a lot of information out there about how best to do this.
In my opinion there are a few common sense MLM tips to remember in this regard – don’t do what everybody else is doing, develop and promote your unique voice and make it easy for your readers.
With regard to the last point – people get hoards of emails so if yours is long and boring and doesn’t offer value you can be sure your mails won’t be opened and you may soon just lose the subscriber too.
For me the very first thing I look at after I have got past the title and actually opened it, is the formatting. This means the layout of the email text. If it looks long and rambling and like hard work I just hit the delete key automatically.
It seems I am not alone. People want you to make the reading as easy as possible and this starts with the way the mail has been formatted.
While this is important you also don’t want to spend unnecessary time manually editing and wrapping text or trying to figure out how long the lines should be. The good news is you don’t have to because I have the perfect solution for you and its totally free.
The MaxBlogPress Email Newsletter Formatter is the perfect web based solution, enabling you to edit, wrap and arrange your emails to look professional, with two mouse clicks. The line length is automatically set and to save you even more time you are given both a plain text and html version which you can quickly and easily insert into your responder mail.
The last of my MLM tips in this regard is to always make sure you send an html and a plain text version of every email. Html versions allow you to track clicks and use hyper links while a plain text version ensures your important email is not weeded out by anti spam tools.
I have deliberately not covered too many suggestions in this MLM tips post but please feel free to add your best tip to the comments section below or express any other thoughts you may have on this topic. I would also be most grateful if you could share this post on your social networks if you believe it has value for others too. Thank you.

Hi Marcus,
Very helpful email marketing tips here, thanks for sharing.
Formatting seems to be a key to your email being read. We are creatures who like visibly appealing things. Even if the content is top shelf readers will tend to ignore or delete it if not formatted properly. The MaxBlogPress Email Newsletter Formatter would be a valuable product in complementing your email marketing campaign.

Another great post Marcus.
The MLM Tips that you provide are awesome.
I think you hit it head on with the post. Formatting can kill what you have to say, so it is critical to have an easily readable email. Your list will appreciate it and you will probably get better conversions.
One thing I would like to correct if you don’t mind. You stated that the “money’s in the list.” I would change that slightly and say the “money’s in the relationship with your list.”
Thanks again for the great content!

Hello Marcus
I have to admit I love tools that make my life easier, especially free ones
As for an email tip I would say make sure your emails have a personal touch to them. It is okay to used canned emails from your system but edit them and modify them to add “yourself” to the email.
And of course always provide value first and definitely don’t try to make an email selling something look like you are providing something for free.
Recently I unsubscribed from a well known marketer because I started to notice a trend. I looked at his last ten emails he sent me and they looked like he was providing free value but each link was to something to purchase. I could imagine his copywriters patting themselves on the back for such trickery.
Thanks Marcus for the tool and tips.

Hi Peter,
Oh yeah the easier the better my friend! I agree with you re the personal touch. It does not really make a lot of sense trying to develop a personal relationship with someone using canned emails no matter how good the copy is! I am in the process of changing a lot of mine for this very reason.
You have added some excellent additional value here Peter, thanks!

Hi Marcus,
That are some great tips from you and also I would check the formatting tool. Short and a crisp email I always prefer in the world of short attention span. Long are boring emails with no value don’t have many readers. Thanks for the post.

Hey Marcus,
That is a pretty cool tool. Making your emails readable and user friendly is very important these days.
Since everyone is constantly trying to get you on their “list”, it’s easy to get your in-box cluttered with all types of emails. You have to find a way to stand out and separate yourself from the masses.
This tool is definitely a great way to get started.

Hi Marcus,
These are some very helpful tools. It’s very important to keep your emails short and sweet. It’s like a writing a resume. It has to be short and straight to the point since companies probaby get tens of thousand resumes a week.

Hey Marcus,
Those are very good tips for getting things going.
You’re right, if the emails are long and unorganized, I don’t spend much time with them.
People are busy, if you want them to read your emails, get their attention fast, and don’t put anything that is not essential in any email.
Great stuff as always!

Hi Marcus, You have really provided great value here! I knew formatting was important, and spend untold hours formatting my aweber emails. I can’t wait to try this new tool. It will make life so much easier. By the way, do you have any tips about the appropriate length for a newsletter. Mine tend to be quite long with 4-5 articles, but broken up with sub-headings. DOn’t know if I am losing people because of the length. Your thoughts? Thanks for sharing, Laurie

Hi Laurie,
I am sure the new tool will help you a much as it helps me.
I tend to find long emails don’t work that well for me so I send shorter but more frequent emails. This way you also remind your readers about your name more often. As long as you are providing valuable content I don’t find people mind getting regular mails.
Maybe you should survey your readers? http://www.surveymonkey .com is an easy and free way to do this. I send out surveys from time to time and always receive information I can use.
Hope that helps. Thanks for the awesome comment.
