I found this Top WordPress Plugin called “Fixed Social Buttons” which I want to share with you.

Plugins if used selectively and with caution can help to make your blog a whole lot better and this is one I recommend. Having a blog is part of the attraction marketing model so when you attract people to your blog you want them to connect with you in as many ways as possible. This plugin will assist you to do this.

PS: My friend Rob Larson was good enough to let me know that I had inadvertently made an error with my settings for this plug in so I am adding this here so that you can avoid the same mistake. When you fill in your profile settings for Twitter, Facebook etc make sure you only enter your profile name and not the whole profile URL. Thanks Rob.

Hi Marcus…. quick thing…. check your FB, twitter, youtube settings for the plugin… you should only put the last part & not the whole url address… (ex: Youtube.com/workwithrob would be just “workwithrob” when setting it up. this will stop the error message i get when i click on the buttons… hope that helps… once again.. thanks for sharing this wonderful plugin.

Yo Rob… hey thanks for that. I did not even realize my error there. I tested some of the non profile options but forgot the others. I may have to add that little bit info into the bottom of my post so that others don’t do the same thing. Many thanks.

I have heard from some that this plug in is no longer available. I had to remove it form my blog because it caused a conflict with some other plugins. Let me know how you go with finding it.

I found it using google, since I coudn’t find in under plugins on the wordpress site.

I’m still trying it on my blog. Until now, I haven’t noticed any issues, but let’s see how it goes.

I noticed that this plugin no longer has a page on wordpress, any idea why it was removed?
and any chance you can tell me what the replacement plugin is that you’re using now for the Twitter, Facebook, Digg & Stumble buttons on the left of the page?

Yes you are right this plugin seems to have disappeared so your comment has reminded me to remove this post but the plugin you refer to that I am using now is called Smart Sharing and you can find out more about it here. http://www.wpbeginner.com/smart-sharing-plugin-for-wordpress/

I wouldn’t recommend removing the post, as I found it through google search, so it’s probably bringing you some traffic.
Instead of removing it, simply update it to let people know the old plugins gone off WP and the url for the new one…

Great list of plugins here! I would add a warning note…if you’re like WordPress and you love plugins be careful they can slow down your site quite a bit. I’ve had to really be selective in plugins to avoid damaging the performance of the site.

That is an excellent point. Only use plugins that you definitely must have. Besides slowing down your site they can also cause all kinds of problems on your blog when they conflict with each other.
