Make Music Your Bridge

No matter whether you own a network marketing Internet business or any other kind of business, I believe that entrepreneurial success depends largely on how well you’re able to make connections – connections within and connections with others.

When you connect to your own inner source of power; to your inner being, then you also connect to your inner purpose, the light of which can then shine through whatever you do externally.

Only now are you really able to connect with others honestly and without fear of what they may think or say about you. It’s the connection to your higher personal power, in whatever way you define this, that keeps you steadfast and strong when things don’t go to plan which is always part of the journey to success.

When you’re truly connected within you believe in yourself because you know who you are and you also know that everything will always be Okay no matter what happens. It’s this that creates the safety you need to take risks and push beyond your comfort zone.

There are many ways for us to make this connection. One such bridge I use daily is that of MUSIC!

social media marketing

Music has the power to change and raise our vibrational frequency. We interpret vibrations through our senses and the most resonant of these is sound.

Writers of movie scores and advertisement jingles know this only too well, many of whom are masters at manipulating your emotions without your even realizing.

Whether you like a piece of music or not and the extent to which it moves you has to do with whether the piece resonates with your vibration at the time.

Music that will act a bridge to your inner being will make you feel good and only you know what will do this for you.

When is a good time to stop and listen to a piece of your favorite music? Any time you realize that you want to feel better and especially when:

  • you feel stressed
  • before tackling something new
  • before speaking about business to someone
  • at the start or end of your day

Every morning I prepare for my day ahead by doing what I call “getting into the zone”.  This usually consists of a combination of meditation, visualization, journaling, reading something inspirational and listening to a piece of music.

I have a number of favorites and one that I like right now is called, “Feeling Good” first made popular by jazz diva, Nina Simone although I prefer the Michael Buble version.

Even though you may not personally resonate with this piece I am sure when you read / hear the lyrics and feel the stirring accompanying instrumental, you’ll understand how it’s possible that a song like this could help one to connect within. Take a listen…

If you don’t regularly use the power of music as a bridge to your inner being I want to encourage you to give a try.

Identify what makes you feel good and whenever you find yourself feeling stressed, fearful, overcome by self doubt, procrastination or in any other state of mind other than feeling great, find a quiet space, take in a deep breath and let the music connect you within.

Do you already use music to help you connect within?

When do you use music in this way?

What do you specifically like to listen to?

Be Happy!

  1. Hi Marcus,

you are right: Music has the power to neutralize or even change our current, but also to amplify it. So we should definitely choose our inspirational music wisely in order not to shoot oneself in the foot.

No risk here with the song you propose, awesome ;-) Thanks for sharing it.

I use music to connect and to stimulate myself, for example with some Madonna songs, Mike Oldfield or Alan Parsons Project…depending on the mood I am in and I want to be in.

Thanks for sharing your insights and touching this subject…

    Take care

    Hi Oliver,

I’m pleased you enjoyed the song. Choosing the right music is important or it could have the opposite effect to that which we desire.

Thank you for sharing your personal experiences with music too Oliver.

    Hey Marcus,

You are right, music does make you feel really good. As I lay down at night I listen to some meditation tapes that have the music in the background and it’s so soothing and calming.

During the day I have been playing some subliminal music in the background such as water running, birds chirping, wind blowing, those types of things that have such a calming affect.

I’m thrilled to say I don’t get stressed out much anymore. If I do have a moment I just take deep breaths and that helps me to relax.

By the way, I love that piece by Michael too. How can you not feel good after hearing that one.

    Thanks for sharing Marcus.

    Hi Adrienne,

Wonderful to read about your experiences with music too Adrienne.

I have to say I also use conscious breathing as a first stop for connecting within. It’s easy and one can do it wherever one finds oneself. Perfect. :)

Pleased to hear you appreciate that track too Adrienne.

  3. Hi Marcus,

Music is a great tool to use in transitioning our minds.

As I was reading through you list I thought back to college and high school when I used to put on some really loud exciting fast pace music that I would listen to while my teammate and I got ready in the locker room. We called it “getting hype.” It really pumped us up.

Same thing when I meditate, only I find a peaceful waterfall nature loving song that relaxes my mind.

Even Love songs. They just make you want to fall in love lol.

Music is a really powerful thing and if we use it to our benefit our vibrations can have a powerful impact as well.

    Thanks for sharing!

  5. Hi Marcus!

Ahh, what is life without music? Subliminal or not, good music has the power to unlock something from deep within you that really affects how we deal with things.

The challenge is really finding the right kind of music to not only feed the soul but also nourish the spirit.

    Hi Elmar,

You are right about it being a challenge to find the right kind of music to do the job required. Most music sadly does not.

Thank you for adding to the discussion Elmar.

    Hey Marcus,
My wife is a Huge Michael Buble fan so I know his music. :)

You are spot on in regards to music/sounds and vibrational changes in the body. My tastes have changed much over the years.

I listen to music “hits from the 80′s” to Celtic music to Native American flute music.

If it feels good to my soul I will listen to it for sure. When I first started my blog I would listen to Celtic music on AOL radio to keep my mind calm. It worked.

    Hi Justin,

Great to hear that you resonate with music too. It is interesting as one develops personally how this is reflected in what we prefer to listen to.

    Appreciate your comment Justin. :)

  7. Janet from The Natural Networker says:

Marcus, aloha. This is one area where we are not in sync. For whatever reason, music does not speak to me as it does for others.

While a certain piece may resonate with me, rarely do I seek out music. For the most part I live in silence with only the sounds of nature.

Interestingly enough, Stan asked me to review a recent podcast of his. Because I believe if someone asks they want honest feedback, I gave him my thoughts.

Both his written word and his delivery were wonderful. However, the background music was discordant and jarring to me. In sharing my feelings with Stan, I did tell him that music often has that impact on me which I know is not the norm.

Marcus, I do connect quite easily; all I have to do is ask.

That being said, I do agree that musical scores absolutely “make or break” a movie or production. Going into an event, I always enjoy the feelings that coming flooding through when the selected music is inspiring.

Great topic for this well executed post, Marcus; loved the bridge concept.

Take good care, my friend. Until next time, aloha. Janet

Janet aloha. I can understand your not seeking out music Janet. I can’t say that I am a music fanatic like some people are since I too generally prefer silence.

In fact I feel most connected in silence, however I do love some pieces of music Janet, essentially because I can feel the energy move within as a result of resonating with certain pieces.

I for instance never listen to a radio and very seldom watch television. Some people always seem to have a need to always have background “noise” but I avoid this completely.

Lovely to read your thoughts on this topic Janet and isn’t it wonderful that we are all different too?

Thank you for adding your valuable contribution to the conversation. :)

Too true Marcus… Music is a hugely powerful tool, as you know I’m a big advocate of using the right tunes to change your state for the better..

Love this version of the track you’ve chosen. If it wasn’t so late I’d be turning the volume right up here as I type…! Great that the lyrics are so inspiring…

Personally I feel that the real ‘magic’ quality which helps me go beyond myself isn’t confined to a particular genre of music.

Sometimes full blown psychedelic goa trance does ti for me, occasionally Lady Gaga, often something very blissful, melodic and empty, it really depends…

Anyway I wholeheartedly agree with your post, and having a few tracks in the iPod for when you need a shift and reconnection is a very good idea…

  9. Oh. I’m so agree with. I can’t live without melodic sound in any sense even when i’m going to sleep. There is a famous words that words sometimes needs in music, but music needs nothing. And it’s true!
