Is Your Internet Home Based Businesss Trading or Masquerading?

maskFinancial profitability must form part of the success equation of every Internet home based business. If this was not the case, you’d do what you do for charity or as a hobby.

Ultimately to make money your business has to trade successfully. If it makes none or not enough then it’s possible you’re open for business but not actually trading. In effect your operation is masquerading as a business.

Masquerading meaning to appear as one thing but be something else in reality, in much the same way as participants at a masquerade ball appear masked.

Does your Internet home based business look the part but not do what it must, make money?

Want to know how to turn a masquerading business into a trading one?

    Hi Elmar,

I am honored you asked me to write a guest post for you, thank you so much.

The inspiration for my post came from the fact that I often speak to people who tell me they are doing everything they have been told to do and can’t understand why they are not making money in their business.

Most times they ARE doing everything except for the most important thing, so it looks as if they are a business, but they aren’t really.

What’s the one thing they neglect to do?
    Ask for the sale!

No matter whether face to face, on the phone or on your website, you have to ask people to take the action you want them to take.

In business this means asking them to buy the solution you’re offering for their problem.

    Thanks again Elmar. Much appreciated.

    Hey Marcus,
Great guest-post. I totally get what you are saying. I started my blog as a means to become an online entrepreneur. I make no bones about that fact.

Still there are many in the online world that struggle with monetizing their website.

    Hi Justin,

Thanks for the feedback my friend.

It’s not such a bad realization that one’s not making money as long as one does something about it which most times means dealing with self limiting money beliefs.

Good article Marcus, this truly is something we need to think about. We might be either making a profit out of our home based business and if we are not making any, we’re moving on believing in something false. You’ve really provided your reader with something very logical and important to ponder. It was a pleasure reading this post.

    Hi Darin,

Welcome and thank you for your positive feedback.

I guess at some point one has to “get real” and say I have a business that isn’t making any money so is it a business and if not what do I have to do to move it there?

    Hi Marcus,
Agree with your analogy about an online business and a shopkeeper; pursuing your online business with similar vigour is absolutely important for your operation to become a thriving business. Happy trading!!
