There’s definitely no shortage of Internet marketing systems available. Some are very similar and some are not. Do you need to use one though?
I believe it depends on whether you require whatever a particular system offers.
Marketing is about finding ways to connect with your target audience. If you believe a system will help you achieve this then you’ll more than likely give one a try.
Some people are more systems oriented and others definitely aren’t. The key to success is understanding what works for you and not just doing what everybody else is doing.
Where do you fit in on the continuum?
Personally I find myself right in the middle on this one. I do subscribe to a system but I don’t use all parts of it. In fact I use it mainly as a coaching tool to guide my new team members who want to learn how learn to market online simply, effectively and without going broke in the process.
When I First Came Online…
I needed a marketing education and I believed that by joining a system that’s what I’d get. Secondly I wanted a system as a solid learning platform for my new team members which we could use as a tool with me coaching them through the process.
Over a period of time I joined three of the biggest systems, all still promoted today. I certainly learned a lot about marketing but also about myself and other people.
This included learning how to feel totally overwhelmed by all the value offered and also how easily I could be influenced to part with my credit card details whenever ‘the system’ recommended another ‘must have’ tool or training. It wasn’t particularly good for my financial situation back then.
The Idea Behind Most Systems…
…is that you learn how to market, then use the system tools to bring others in as affiliates. This done you now build a relationship with your new affiliate , helping him or her to be successful in using the system and then possibly down the line you may collaborate on other projects.
Sounds ideal but how effectively does it happen in reality? Here’s what I discovered:
Systems are aimed at newbies who know nothing or very little. Many join because they have been sold a lie that the system will do all the work for them.
They don’t really want your mentoring because they don’t really want to do anything; they want the system to do it. That’s what they purchased after all.
When they finally realize they have to do some work, it’s all a bit too challenging and after three months of not setting things up properly and making no money they drop out because they can no longer afford the subscription.
Of course there are the exceptions as with everything but how many people do you have to sign up to find the rare gems? A lot in my experience
Needless to say once I had learned enough I decided moved on since none of the systems I used helped me to fulfill my second objective of using it for coaching purposes.
Some Time Later…
I did stumble on a system that does not have all the bells and whistles that the major players do but it did offer amazing value for money and it looked as if it would be a great coaching tool. I have used it ever since.
What appeals to me most about this system is:
- Very low cost but offers more than enough value for the cost which means newbies stay long enough to learn the basics and get some results
- No excessive third party product pushing so people don’t feel the pressure to buy products they neither need or can afford.
- The ability to earn half of the subscription fee back in affiliate fees which means you only need to sign up two people and your subscription is paid for
- A simple, phased learning curriculum which means people are not totally overwhelmed by information over-load
- Learning that starts with teaching people how to communicate with others before teaching them how to use a capture page
What I Appreciate Even More…
is that owners, Mike Hobbs and Adam Whiting are just down to earth, regular guys whose main priority is to help people find marketing success, which is why they don’t charge a ridiculous price for the awesome value they offer.
Right now they’re in the process of putting what they have made in profit, back into the system to improve it. Within a month we will have a better revamped system and at the same low subscription price.
I don’t know about you but these sound like my kind of people, genuinely wanting to help others, not just make money out of people who often can’t afford it especially when starting out.
So why am I telling you all this? At the time of writing this they are offering free memberships for a limited time before the revamped system is launched. Crazy? I think so but even if you’re not interested I’d love you to click on the image and take a careful look at the value they offer and tell me what you think. Even if you don’t need a valuable free Internet marketing system, maybe you know someone who could benefit and you’ll pass the news on.
What’s your view about Internet marketing systems?
Have your say in the comments section and I’ll meet you there. If you know others who might benefit from reading this post, please pass it on. Thank you.
Be Happy!

Hi Marcus,
thanks for sharing your insights about marketing systems frankly, appreciate that. I was part of part of two systems before I joined the system I am currently part of and have used ever since.
With the former two, I felt totally overwhelmed and my credit card exhausted. It’s insane. The dangerous claim is saying that we can make money with people who don’t join us – because that leads us to focus on the wrong people…
My current system offers a free e-book that allows to connect easily with networker marketers who are struggling but who have the definite desire to succeed – warriors. Most network marketers can resonate with this e-book, so it’s easy to engage them in a conversation.
In the system, people learn marketing skills, especially marketing and lead generation through relationship building and personal development.
Everybody loves the fact that the entire training is free and that they can keep their credit cards in their pockets.
Glad to hear that yours is working well too without selling useless stuff to people.
Take care
Oliver

Hi Oliver,
Sounds like I was part of those first two systems you used too Oliver! Ha ha
I think one has to be very clear about why one is using a system and make sure that it is fulfilling this.
To me is seems that a lot of people just promote a system to make money from it which has never been my priority. For me it has always been most important as an aid for my own learning and the learning of those I mentor.
To be honest with you I am far more focused on long term residual income than affiliate marketing type income. While there is nothing wrong with the latter it does not come close in any way to the residual income model that defines true network marketing.
I know that your system works well for you Oliver and for many others too. I think it’s a case of when the student is ready the teacher will appear, in whatever form that must be.
Appreciate your comment here Oliver. Thank you.

I think that it takes a lot of research and experience to find the “right system” but really it would be great to learn from the mistakes of others instead of making them yourself, that’s why i like posts like yours

Hi Ella,
Welcome and thank you for taking the time to leave a comment.
You are spot on, choosing a system is a very personal matter but I am pleased that this post was helpful by sharing my own experiences.

Marcus, aloha. Thx so much for this review. Because you are pleased with it and recommended it, I signed up before typing this comment. Tomorrow I will spend time learning it.
Though I briefly signed up with two different systems, I have not used any system so I will be curious to see hos this works.
Unlike you and Oliver, I only started my online journey late last year–actually, the beginning this year was more like it.
After I review the program, Marcus, I will come back to comment again. It may be just what I need to help team members. Thx so much for thinking of us.
Until tomorrow, aloha. Janet

Janet aloha. Awesome to hear that you have dived in already. The current training and webinar archive offers a great deal of value with which to get started.
I like things to be simple and effective Janet and compared with other systems I have experienced this is by far the best to meet this criteria. The others may look shinier but I am far more interested in solid effectiveness.
So Janet assess what’s there but as I said in the post, the system is currently undergoing a major overhaul so enjoy what is currently there and then wait and see what is to come as I am sure it will be worth waiting for.
I have two programs I use to train team members Janet. This is the more basic but it’s also the one I use most as I have seen more people in my team use this and be successful than anything else.
Take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend Janet.

Hey Marcus,
Can you use MSS as a paid membership site? You said you were going to use it for your coaching services.
If so than I will be signing up.

Hey Justin,
Not sure exactly what you mean Justin. It is a paid membership site but what I do is offer to coach people though the marketing training when the sign up with MSS.
I think what you are after is a platform for your coaching services that doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with “how to market”. I am looking at doing the same thing for my other services Justin but think starting your own membership site would be better. So far the very best I have come across is a membership platform theme (well it is a lot more actually) which you should look at here http://www.optimizepress.com/. It’s awesome.

Nice post Marcus. I like it when you said not to do what other marketers are doing. We need to do what works for us. About the training system, there is a right time to introduce any kind of system to our downlines because they need to learn the basics first before they start learning the complicated stuff. Our goal is to help them make money in the next 60 days because if we failed to do that, then most most of the will dropout of business.
Training system can also speed up the learning curve of new marketers when the time is right to do marketing.
Nice post Marcus. Wishing you all the best my friend and God bless you

This is the main reason why I like MSS as it gives new people the best chance possible to succeed and I think they deserve that.

Hi Marcus!
Very timely as I am presently contemplating a new internet marketing system and perhaps given the proper time, I could also post my review about it and share it with you.
Thanks so much for sharing your own personal experience with this system. Coming from you, this is really a great endorsement!
In the long run, I think we could all benefit from a marketing system that could address our specific marketing needs. I agree that there’s no one great marketing system for everyone, we still have to check things out and see for ourselves if it’s really working for us and our own objectives or not.
This is a great guide in choosing an internet marketing system that really works for us.

Hi Elmar,
I’d love to read your review too Elmar!
I think why one person likes a certain type of system and someone else another has to do with one’s personality, needs and preferences. This is is why one finds success stories and the opposite with every system around.
Thanks for adding to the conversation Elmar.

Hi Marcus,
I have never bought into a system but based on my mailing list experiences in the past, it looks like many systems focus a little more on the money making aspect of things and less on the service.
I mean, most systems offer super value. However, you get barraged by the endless sell to the next latest and greatest tool, when the latest and great tool resides up in your head. It’s called your mind.
MSS sounds like a wonderful system, focused on helping others before all else. Frankly, if you put your seal of approval on it, I trust you, because you embody the servant’s mindset more than any network marketing coach who I have ever met.
Thanks for sharing the opportunity with us Marcus.

Hi Ryan,
Wow what an awesome compliment Ryan!
Thank you buddy.
I guess with this system, the reason why I like it so, is because Mike and Adam who started it are so down to earth and helpful and not just in it to make a killing.
Their first priority is to help others and I resonate with this myself. For instance regardless of whether people are in my primary or not I am happy to coach people through the MSS training if that’s what they want. Some people do and others don’t need it. We are all different.
It’s not a difficult system to master at all so when people don’t do what is required they can’t say it’s because they cant afford it or because it’s too overwhelming. They are left with being honest with themselves, the fact that they don’t really want success enough. At least they learned this lesson without maxing out their credit cards.
Thanks for your support as always Ryan!

Sir I am planning to use MSS, but unfortunately I’m still a marketing student and I can’t afford it at this point of time due to certain financial issues. If it is still offered for free, do you think sir that it would be a big help for me to improve my marketing intelligence even just for a short period of time? I deeply appreciate it if you can help me with this as I would like to avail for the free membership.
By the way, thanks for the highly valuable information you shared. Have a nice day!

Hi Ralph,
Welcome to my blog and thank you for leaving a comment.
It is free to join right now although usually only $10 per month Ralph. Most other systems charge from $50 to $100 per month.
I think you will benefit just from going through all the webinar trainings that you will find in the archives Ralph.
Remember too that it is an affiliate program which means if you apply what the system teaches and get two other people to sign up then that will cover your $10 membership anyway so that is what I would recommend you do.
Email me at marcus@marcus-baker.com if I can help you further with any questions Ralph.

Hi Marcus, I have seen MSS around for a while. I have never really looked at it, however I just went over and will definitely check it out.
Like you, I have tried a few different systems in the past that have had some definite positives. I have to agree that ultimately, at the end of the day (one in particular did become a bit too ‘pitchy’ and it seemed that every ‘expert’ they had on in the end wanted to ‘sell’ you on ‘their’ system. After a while it became a bit tiring and I found that I lost my respect to a certain degree.
What I mean is, they started off genuinely offering value… and while I did learn some things, their quality dropped because of the overwhelming sales pitches. (you might know which one that is).
anyway… blah blah blah…
I do feel systems have their place but in the end have to say, that where I am today.. I feel that all success in the end boils down to either ‘working the system’…. the emphasis being on ‘work’… or marketing your head off with consistency and focus.
For newbies, it’s great for them to get a taste.
As you may remember I have built a training site, and while there is SO much I can add… I really feel that if a person used the info offered, they could design their own system… and it would likely work just as well.
What do you think?
I do appreciate you sharing this Marcus. I am really looking forward to having a snoop around. You can always learn something from others if you approach things with an open mind.
See you soon

Hi Jane,
I have to admit I kind of have a love/hate relationship with systems Jayne, I think because it is challenging to be different when you are doing everything that everybody else in the system is doing too.
Saying this I have learned a lot from belonging to them and I definitely think it’s a good place for newbies to start which is why I like to recommend MSS to new team members. It just gives them a basic grounding and lots of support while they are finding their feet.
Of course as you and I know all the upsells from a certain system out there might be valuable but they just confuse new people who almost weekly are being told to try the next affiliated product.
There seem to be a lot of people who thrive and even excel at working systems. I use them for some of my needs but I certainly don’t base everything I do around them which is why they have to be affordable and effective to be viable for me.
I do think we could probably design our own systems with what we know and we probably all work our own systems to an extent anyway.
Thanks for adding to the discussion Jayne. Shout if you have any other questions related to MSS.

Hey Marcus,
I couldn’t agree with you more. There are endless systems out there. It’s important to do a proper research in order to find the right one.
Systems are there to help us build our businesses online, not to do all the work for us.
Focus, hard work and consistency are required for any system to work.
Thanks for sharing your insights and the MSS review.
All the best,

Yes it’s funny how people expect a system to do the work isn’t it? Maybe it;s because of the way they are marketed however. I guess people will learn sooner or later that they have to do the work though.

A system definitely has its advantages, and as a new guy on the block you want to follow one as a first step. But once you’ve mastered it and you’ve seen it can be done, well it’s best to outgrow it and get something better. That is, if you have what it takes.
