I recently read a post by Joel Williams titled, “Are People Getting Sick of Blogs?”. Joel is better known as ‘the blog tech guy’ so I often enjoy reading his posts for a technical perspective.
This post has nothing to do with anything technical so I want to recommend that you have a read. Not only do I like what he has to say on the subject but reading the comments left by others was just as interesting. Naturally I left one too.
He asks the question generally about blogs and I am sure you’ll agree that when you consider the number of blogs across the spectrum of subject areas there are a great many out there.
What about blogs that have to do with network marketing though? Are people getting sick of these?
Is the topic of MLM different to any other subject area when it comes to blogging? Will we ever reach saturation point in this niche?
I’d be interested to hear what you think, so please leave me a comment below.
One thing I do know is that if you have a network marketing Internet business and you understand that people join people not businesses then you have the perfect platform at your disposal to present yourself to an audience. A blog is easy to set up, cost effective and accessible to the masses.
This is not enough though. Blogging takes hard work, commitment and you have to have a strategic plan to ensure your blog communicates the message about you that you want it to.
I think we are going to see many more MLM blogs emerge. Whether yours survives will depend on many factors. The most critical of these is YOU.
Here are some ways to ensure that people don’t get sick of your blog:
Be a blogger because you love it more than anything else, not because someone said it was a good idea. If you don’t have a passion for blogging it will show eventually.
Be authentic. Be who you are, not what you think people want you to be.
Reveal yourself on your blog. Let your personality out and let it shine.
Give people what they want to read not what you think they want to read
Have an opinion and express it on your blog. Be bold. Stand out and lead.
Let your values underline all of your communication. Doing this demonstrates your beliefs.
Be relevant and up to date with what’s going on in the industry so you can share this with others.
Please leave me your answer to this question and any other comments you’d like to make. Also I’d really appreciate it if you could share this post with your social networks. Thank you.
My goal? Helping you achieve yours.

Hi Marcus,
are people getting sick of blogs ? Good question.
I don’t think that potential readers are getting sick of good blogs. Chances are that bloggers who don’t have the mindset you describe corectly get sick of blogging and/or their own blogs.
Thanks for sharing.
Take care

Hey Oliver,
I like the way you pointed this out and I think it is so true. Bloggers lose interest and then their blogs deteriorate and so hold less value. Excellent observation.

Hi Marcus,
You post a few interesting questions.
As long as you run a creative and genuine industry specific blog you won’t back for readers. There will always be a need for specialization. Provide unique content in an entertaining manner and you should be good to go.
You hit on the 2 most important points: blog for the love of blogging and be you!

Hi Ryan,
I agree with you. I think being as specialized as you can be is emerging as an important aspect and this together with maximizing one’s personality on one’s blog will make for a winning combination.
The problem for a lot of people when they start out though is that they don’t really have enough knowledge or insight to specialize to the micro level which is why a focus on being ourselves helps them to stand out regardless.

I think the biggest problem with blogging is that most MLM bloggers have no idea what their blog is all about.
They write about anything and everything under the sun pertaining to network marketing. Unfortunately, many others do the same, so it’s extremely difficult to stand out.
Finding a niche within network marketing and sticking with it, explaining it better than everyone else would is the key to a blog success.
Thanks for food for thought, Marcus.

Thanks for adding awesome value here Ana. I think you are right, narrowing one’s blog down to the micro niche level helps one’s focus a lot and then add your personality and one will be set up for success a lot easier.

Through blogging one can have the best relationship with the masses. Blogging is a great platform because there is an interaction between the blogger and the masses. And yes there are many blogs out there. But it is a simple rule that you deliver value for a long time and here comes the masses. Great Post Marcus.

Hi Yadvinder,
Delivering ongoing value is vitally important. When we add our personal angle to the content then we have a recipe for success.

Hey Marcus,
I this is a great topic! Everything you talk about is so important that you just can’t pick over the other. Most individuals that are blogging are doing the opposite of what you mentioned. That is why this blog is a popular blog. Awesome title!

Hi Josh,
Great to have you comment as usual my friend. I agree with you, too many bloggers are just duplicating other blogs and that is a sure way to not to succeed. Choosing a specialist area and then infusing it with ourselves is the key.

Hey Marcus
Along the lines of Ana’s thinking, I would say that if you had a well targeted blog your readership would not get sick of you.
And that is the key to differentiating yourself from everyone else, write for your niche.

Hi Peter,
Agreed. Blogging like learning anything is a process that progresses at the speed with which you are ready to learn more. The key is sticking with it long enough to learn the lessons.

Hey Marcus,
The question that I ask is: Are people getting tired of having value delivered to them at virtually no cost? Absolutely not! As long as good content is shared, there wont be a short of readers.
Thanks for sharing!

I think you are right Tosin and to be honest there is always something to learn on the same topics and if one finds a post where you are not learning anything then there is a good chance you can add value to the post in the comments section anyway.

Hey Marcus,
I love what you said about love blogging because you want to and not because of what others say.
Otherwise, people are doing it for the wrong reasons. That’s not the right thing to do.
It’s same for anyone running a home business, if they aren’t doing it for themselves they aren’t going to have the success.
Great idea on this post. Thanks buddy…

Hi Jerome,
Thanks my friend. When I first started online I used to do a lot of things others said I had to do but a lot of it I really didn’t care for. It was only when I focused on what I did like that I started to enjoy what I was doing. There was a huge lesson in this.

Marcus,
I read a lot of blogs on any given day you can just tell if someone really has a passion for this or not. If you have a “sick” mentality towards having a blog by all means let it go.
Your doing yourself more harm than good but not delivering the value that it takes to get people coming back. You can still promoter yourself but you would be passing up a great opportunity.

Hi Marcus,
It’s true, you have to have a passion for blogging and for the topics you’re blogging about.
Of course, there is no real way to tell if you’ll love it or not, except to try it out for yourself.
I didn’t start blogging because I knew I’d love it, I STARTED because I heard it was a good thing to do. I CONTINUED because I love it.
Great topic!

Hi Susanna,
Great point you make here. It is possible start something and not know whether you will love it. I guess the secret lies in letting it go if you don’t and embracing it if you do do. Your blog is awesome and it’s easy to see that you love it.

As a new blogger, I appreciate your perspective. It must be said that blogging is NOT easy, but I’m finding that I enjoy it quite a lot.
Because I can utilize quality content from other sites and occasionally interject some of my OWN brilliance (if and when it occurs to me!) I’m finding there’s no shortage of ideas for sharing,
I hope to hear more from you about finding your niche and really making your blog unique.

Hi John,
I believe the fact that you enjoy blogging is what will keep you there and learning as you go. Too many new bloggers think it is an easy way to instant riches but this not so.
What you are doing by using content from other sites is perfect John and the more blogs you read the more ideas you will get for totally new posts too.
I believe it’s important to express an opinion on a blog and since we all have opinions it follows that we then always have something to say. Every time you take somebody else’s content and express an opinion about it you have personalized it and created a brand new post. By doing this you are already going a long way to making your blog unique.
I look forward to having you visit my blog some more. Thanks for leaving a comment and for letting me know what you want to know more about.
