A Network Marketing Sponsor’s Accountability Checklist

  • class="st_sharethis" displayText="Share">

In my last post I voiced my opinion about Network Marketing sponsors needing to take more responsibility for their personally enrolled team members but what does this mean?

Here is my own personal accountability checklist. As long as I can answer yes to these questions for each person then I feel I have done all I possibly could have done to help them to be successful.

  • I select my team members by carefully assessing each of them as the best possible partner for my business and because I truly believe they have a good chance to be successful.
  • I have an understanding of my team members strengths and areas for improvement so I know how to support each of them personally.
  • I have a business induction / orientation program for new team members to follow which includes my expectations of them as business partners.
  • I help my new team members develop a simple personal business plan which includes setting short, medium and long term goals and I ensure I get a copy of these.
  • I am able to provide team members with suitable step-by-step business marketing training.
  • I provide team members with resources for personal development.
  • I use an Auto Responder series of emails to check in with and motivate team members regularly for the first 21 days.
  • I set up a weekly coaching and feedback session with team members until they feel confident enough to make sessions less frequent.
  • I know what each of my team member’s monthly goals are, whether they are achieving these or not and I help them to make changes to strategies when necessary.
  • I teach my team members how to be effective sponsors to their team members.
  • From time to time I check in with team members who start to fall by the way side to offer them my assistance to get back on track.

You may have some other ideas to add to this list or comments to make generally on this topic, so please feel free to leave me a comment. If you think this post would be valuable to others, I would appreciate it if you would share it with your followers.

My goal?  Helping you achieve yours.

  1. Hey Marcus,

I guess I’ll soon make you my sponsor. :-)

But seriously, it`s a great list. I don’t joke with the careful selection of potential business partners. I ensure that they know that they are lucky to be in my team and that they can be rest assured of my support.

Thanks for adding value as always.

Wow! You’ve made a very comprehensive list there Marcus,

I can’t think of anything to add. If a leader does these things, then s/he really has fulfilled their side of the bargain. If only more leaders would hold themselves as accountable as this!

  3. Hi Marcus,

Thanks for sharing the detailed breakdown. Your team members are receiving instruction from a goal-achieving, driven leader and can’t help but to prosper through their association with you.

The power in lists is awesome. They create order in your mind which creates a more orderly, success oriented environment for your team.

    Awesome takeaway material here.

  8. Can’t agree with you more on this Marcus. I believe that once you sponsor someone into the business (onto your team), you have an obligation now to find out what their goals and dreams are and make them your goals. That said, I always believe as Jim Rohn taught – “you step, I step” which ties into their accountability. Nice Post.
