FBPost Facebook Advertising On The Internet Should You Bother? There seems to a be a lot of buzz around Facebook advertising on the Internet just lately.

In a nutshell Facebook ads and Google Pay Per Click both fall into the same advertising category. This  refers to a form of marketing that is designed to get a direct response which is specific and measurable.

There are some similarities between Google and Facebook advertising but there are just as many differences. I’d like to encourage you to read a post titled “Facebook Ads vs Google PPC” written by  my friend Derek Alvarez in  which he covers the advantages and disadvantages of each very efficiently.

Should YOU be considering this strategy for MLM lead generation purposes?

Whether you should bother with Facebook advertising or not will depend on your own unique set of circumstances but I wanted to share my views with you about this.

Let me be quite up front here when I say I have personally not done any Facebook advertising yet.

In all likelihood my reluctance  will have  been colored by an earlier experience. When I first started marketing online I opted for Google PPC as advised by a sponsor.  This would have been fine had he known what he was doing. Hmmm mental note to self…

Needless to say I was battered around like a paper kite in a thrashing storm at sea. Then came a certain 12 hour period when I ‘gave’ the ‘mighty G’, $500 for not a single lead. Game over!  At this time $500 was my my entire marketing budget for two months so the effect was somewhat severe.

Google’s fault? Absolutely not.

PPC requires that you have a substantial budget to spend especially when you are learning. It also requires that you take time to learn the complexities involved and that you be able to change strategy as quickly as Google changes.

More than this it requires you to be or become a numbers person, someone who enjoys tracking and statistics. I am simply not this way inclined which means I was ignorant and easy bait.

I believe you should consider Facebook advertising on the Internet if:

  • you want to venture into this kind of advertising and have less of a budget than required by Google.
  • you want to learn aspects of direct response marketing in a more controlled environment.
  • you have a very clear idea of who it is you want to target and what the measurable response is you require.
  • want to try this type of advertising in a less competitive market than Google.
  • you’re not focusing on any other major marketing strategy right now.
  • you know someone who is already using Facebook advertising who can show you how to be successful

So how do you feel about Facebook advertising? Maybe you already use it in which case I’d love to hear about your experiences so please leave me a comment.

If you enjoyed this post I’d appreciate it if you could share it on your social networks. Thank you.

My goal?  Helping you achieve yours.

Fresh MLM Leads Just Delivered, Now What?

stork Fresh MLM Leads Just Delivered, Now What? You’ve  just received an email delivery of fresh MLM leads which hopefully you have not wasted your money buying since the best MLM leads are those you generate yourself.

That’s great but do you know what to do with them ?

Whenever I ask people what they need to know more about,  I frequently hear “how to generate more leads”.  It’s a fact that we require more leads than we usually expect we will need, however MLM lead generation is only the first step towards success.

Do you connect with your fresh MLM leads?

If you are not prospecting leads, then you may as well stop generating them now because you are just fooling yourself, wasting yours and others time and probably a lot of money too.

The only way we get paid in this industry is if we connect with our leads and convert them to sales. This is otherwise known as mlm recruiting or network marketing prospecting. Personally I prefer the term, “connecting” because that’s exactly what we are doing.

Some people get stuck at this point and I was one of them until I learned how to prepare myself. I had to learn to overcome this barrier.  This is how I did it and what you might need to do too.

Preparing yourself for prospecting leads:

  1. Give this area of your business as much if not more attention than MLM lead generation.
  2. Ensure that you have the right sub conscious beliefs about yourself and what you have to offer. Remember beliefs are not what you say you believe necessarily but are always reflected in your actions.  If you find it almost impossible to speak to leads then there is a very good chance your beliefs are not supporting you and they will have to be overhauled.  This may require more conscious personal development or even require some work at a sub conscious level.
  3. You have  to learn and understand the psychology of prospecting. This means understanding how others think and respond and knowing the best way to communicate with them. This is not something you will just know. You will need to learn how to do it. I suggest any Jefferey Combs training or Mike Dillard’s  Black Belt Recruiting
  4. You must have an approach and strategy prepared. This is not a sales pitch or a script but rather knowing how to start and direct a conversation to its logical conclusion. Find someone to role play this with until you are comfortable with your approach.
  5. Now practice it on every lead you get. Make your goal to practice the strategy not sign someone up and the results will come as you get better at it.

Further Training

My friend Jordan Schultz has written an awesome blog post on this subject in which he gives you some great practical tips for prospecting leads. I suggest you read this by clicking on his name.

I’d love to hear your thoughts about prospecting leads so please leave me a comment. If you enjoyed this post I’d appreciate it if you could share it on your social networks  too.

gold Prospecting Tips How To Mine For Gold On FacebookTake yourself back to the gold rush of yesteryear and think about how miners would have searched for gold, then you’ll have all the prospecting tips you need to be successful at mlm lead generation on Facebook too.

Would miners have just started digging in any old place? It’s highly unlikely as this would have been a total waste of time. I feel confident they would have targeted areas known to have gold deposits for starters and there would have been a process to uncover this.

Diggers would have worked carefully, systematically and consistently to chip away at  the rock in order to find what they were looking for. This would have been followed by a great deal of sorting. Perhaps in amongst all the mined rock, they would have found a small amount of gold which if they were fortunate enough  may have been of a high enough grade to be valuable.

The point is that that finding gold in this way required a process. There were no short cuts. The same is true for prospecting one on one with anybody, anywhere, including on Facebook.

Unfortunately few people really get this. I mostly come across two types of miners  – those who have no idea where the gold is so they just dig anywhere. These are the people who can’t resist sending you  link burdened messages about how their opportunity is just what you need to solve your every problem. Really? How would they know since they know nothing about you?

Then there are those who have half got it. They connect with you on a personal level, well at least for a couple of messages anyway. Then comes a message which is usually polite and without links. It provides an explanation about how whatever it is they are involved with has changed their life and why you will definitely benefit from knowing about it. The message usually ends  with them asking your permission to move to the next step. The problem is they still have no idea about whether this is something you need.

Here then is the mining for gold process on Facebook:

  • Firstly decide what it is you have to offer someone that is NOT a business opportunity. There is no shortage of business opportunities  and  none of them will distinguish you from the thousands of others who have them too. What can you personally offer someone else?

  • Next, work out the possible problems someone in your niche might have and which you can help with what you have to offer.

  • Identify people in your target group and add them as friends. Make no assumptions about them.

  • Send them a personal message when you request their friendship which simply suggests that you’d like to get to know them better. If they confirm your request or you theirs, now you are ready to find out whether a dialogue is possible. If they don’t respond to your first mail,  leave it at that and find people who will.

  • Your aim over a series of messages is to find out as much as you can about the person. The following are examples of the type of questions you would ask. This is NOT a sequential email script! – Where do you live? How long have you lived there? What are your interests? What do you do for a living? How do you market? How is that working out for you? Do you generate your own leads etc.Your questions must be geared to finding out what you need to know to decide whether you can help them or not.

  • When you have established that they have a problem you might be able to help them with, then you have found some possible gold.  Just how valuable it is will depend on how you match your solution to their problem.

Learn how to develop effective relationships on Facebook and you’ll have great list building tool at your disposal  to grow your network marketing business in a very real way. Happy prospecting!

graph Blogging Statistics Why Theyre Important & How To Collect ThemBlogging statistics do we really need them?

I’m not a numbers  type person at all. How do I know this? Pure experience!  When I did a Psychology degree I breezed through all my courses except for statistics. Not only did it take a few attempts but even when I eventually passed I still had no idea what I was doing.

I tell you this so that you’ll understand that when I first started marketing online and anybody mentioned campaign tracking or anything that vaguely sounded like a statistic I was off  like a  shot to focus elsewhere.

Fortunately I got over my ‘numbers phobia’ essentially because my curiosity was greater than my fear. Statistics provide crucial information for us so that we can better master mlm lead generation and list building so the answer to the question above is a resounding YES!

You must collect statistics about your blog. When you act on the information you collect then you’ll take responsibility for moving your blog forward. The good news is that it’s really easy to do and by the end of this post you’ll be able to take action  if haven’t already done so.

Why do you want to collect blog statistics?

  • Firstly it will do wonders for your self esteem when you know for sure your blog is being visited and read by others.
  • You’ll know how many people are visiting your site every day and where they’re coming from so you can attract them back again.
  • So you’ll have an idea of where your blog is placed in the “blogosphere” of millions!
  • You’ll find out which items and topics are most popular so you can focus on these areas in the future.
  • You’ll be able to tweak the posts that aren’t that popular to perform better in search engines.
  • You’ll be able to measure your results from implementing specific strategies like the free tribe strategy I advocate.

How should you go about collecting statistics?

There are many tools to choose from but here are a few of the most popular ones to implement. These are all free to use.

  • Alexa – This is one of the most popular. You’ll be able to install a widget on your blog for others to see and if you use Firefox you can install an add on that allows you to measure all other site’s rankings in your toolbar.
  • Google Analytics – Goes without saying as it’s one of the stalwarts when it comes to statistics.
  • Awstats – You should be able to access this or a similar tool in the C-panel of your hosting account. Once turned on, your hosting provider will automatically collect stats for you. This is my favorite tool to use. Note – you will need to look for this in your C-panel, probably under the tab of ‘logs’.
  • WordPress.com Stats -  A free plug in that collects a huge amount of useful information. You can also find this by searching it for it in the plug ins section in the admin area of your blog.
  • Statpress – The first real-time WordPress plugin dedicated to the management of statistics about blog visits. It collects information about visitors, spiders, search keywords, feeds, browsers etc.
  • Google Webmaster Tools
  • Feedburner

There are many other tools to use and you certainly don’t need to use more than two or three.   Once installed simply determine whether the tool you are using gives you a more positive outcome when the numbers go up  or down and then evaluate your progress.

The real value however lies in looking at the detail about you blog that will be provided by the statistics.
