Steve Shoemaker is the my featured tribe member this week.
I chose Steve because he has taken consistent action in a number of ways which is probably why his blog’s Alexa ranking is dropping very nicely too. Apart from posting content on the tribe wall, commenting and sharing other’s content and jumping out on a tribe webinar call, he is also doing an awesome job of using his personal experiences to create blog posts which is one of the best ways to create unique posts.
Here is one of Steve’s posts to read. Please leave him a comment and share this post as usual. You can read more of his posts by clicking on his blog banner below.
You can never have a bad day if you set your mind to it. Abraham Lincoln was quoted to say “people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be”.
How true, but sometimes our lives or pc’s will throw us a curve ball that makes for a bitter pill to swallow. Well I had that kind of experience just the other day.
I had the day all mapped out, my to do list right here on the computer desk in front of me the sun was shining all the promises of a great day. I read a fellow blogger’s tips on a great widget that will help you keep up with your traffic.
Traffic that’s the name of the game in a lot of ways isn’t it? We also to to be able to effectively evaluate that traffic as well.
So getting on with it, I tried to install the widget then went back to the site to checking the placement and making sure none of the banners were crowded or overlapping and such and “WHAM” all of my well laid plans had collapsed it seemed.
With one click of the mouse I had taken a perfectly normal looking blog and made it look like something a toddler would do. The web form, all my affiliate banners the Alexa ranking widget were all now jumbled up in the footer.
What to do? What to do? I’m in need of some serious home PC repair is what I’m thinking. So the logical thing to do is backtrack and undo the last thing you did and hope that works right? Wrong.
Not this time maestro after removing all the widgets and coming back to the site and still not seeing any progress I was starting to get a little worried.
Well now I end up on the phone with Aweber a good chunk of the day, no luck. Then it’s off to Host Gator……..and again no dice.
By the way this is not a negative reflection on either one of these EXCELLENT companies they stuck it out with me. I’m mean, going as far as to log into my WP dashboard and try to fix this problem for on an application they don’t even support! Now that’s customer service my friends.
So how did the issue finally get resolved even after I contemplated just starting all over with the blog or throwing the PC out the window? Very simply as it turns out I’m ashamed to say. Watch the video for the home PC repair tip of the day!
After all that I couldn’t believe how simple it was to fix. But as with a lot of things in life all that’s required to make a change is just a little guidance.
So did I wind up having a bad day after all? Absolutely not, even if I hadn’t found the solution I had already made up my mind to take care of the problem and come back bigger and better.
Sure I wasn’t able to take care of everything I had planned on that particular day but sometimes extracting the positive from a negative situation is a tedious process.
I definitely learned something and was able to share it with others that in and of itself is very positive. Until next time.
Make Today Your Day,
Steve Shoemaker

Hey Steve,
Great article!
Most of the times when we need to fix something it requires just a little adjustment and guidance from someone who has been there.
We all have been there.
